Default Getting an XB next year, have some questions!!!

Ok so ill be grabbing my xb in late 06, due to money problems, but im definitly grabbing one! Anyway, i wanted to know your guys opinion on the TRD muffler that comes from the dealer. Is it any good? I would buy after-market but it would be easier to pay monthly with the car. Just wanna know how much it adds to the car, and is it easy to install yourself?

Don't wait too late. Production is to end on the xB at the end of the 06' model run. You could always pick up a low mile used one though.

I work Ups 4am-9am and then 130pm to 430pm, then gamestop on the weekends, but the bank wont give me ____..... so aggravating, been wanting this car forever because of college funds, but now ive got enough income to finance one and i get screwed over. Bah just venting, very frustrating

I'm not convinced that the xB will end with the 06 model year. I like the TRD muffler, alot better than the stock one.

That's 2 years from now! ALOT can happen in that time, but anyway, maybe the Box is short lived? Time will tell!

All I know is right from the beginning Scion was preaching that all 3 models would only run 3 years. That means the xA and xB should be gone in 06' with the tC running till 07'. The whole premis was to keep the lineup fresh and new and not just tweak them into foreverness like other companies. If they keep selling like they are it wouldn't surprise me if it sticks around. I just don't like being fed a line of BULL.

I am not saying what the guy said is true. I am just saying it to tell what I heard. I just also hope they don't get rid of it until 2008 cuz that will give me enough time to get one myself!!

Anyway getting back to the topic at hand that is a good question me being a a new 06' xb owner ma'self. I've heard mix reviews about some peeps swear the TRD stuff is good and others say other aftermarket outside stuff better. Guess it depends on what you expect to gain out of it. You'll only get a few more ponies out and remember no matter which exhaust you get don't expect to be able to take down a Ferrari on the freeway. btw you plan on doing intake and hedders?

well.....it....put it this way would you put on shoes to go running and not wear socks, (not sure if good analogy) but it just makes everything work together better. However there may be warranty issues you may want to check on BEFORE doing whatever it is you intend.

btw don't get the roof racks if thats an option i had a set found out there may be issues with it, took em back to dealership and they bought em back. Turns out it COULD damage the weather strip around the doors AND scratches the paint where mounted! No immediate recalls yet but dealerships have been letting new customers with em bring it back at there discretion.

Default TRD

I got my 06 XB a month ago with the TRD muffler. It added only 5 more dollers to the 5 year payment contract. I told the dealer I want the muffler, rims and drop kit to go on my contract.

You really can't tell a difference between a replacement exhaust or the stocker. It's just louder. IMHO

The Bsat thing you can do is start with a stripped down one and add stuff as your finances will allow. Why pay intereston accessories for up to 5 years. It makes them that much more expensive, as if they weren't already too expensive from the dealer to start with. LOL I will be amazed if there is such a thing as an 07'xB. I guess anythings possible.
