My windows are scheduled to be tinted next Thursday, 35% on the rear five windows.

im getting my black xA tinted when i get back home in december... im torn between 15% and 35% on the rear 5 windows (not doing the front 2 at all cause i dont want the slightest chance of getting a stupid ticket, i have a clean record)

but my question is how hard is it to see out the back windows at night with 15%, and does 35% still look pretty good or not dark enough to bother? opinions welcome

The 15% can be a little bit challenging, although you do get used to it a bit. If I were only doing the rear sides and back, I would only get 35% or lighter. In fact, I wouldn't do it at all because of the looks of "1/2 tinting"

I'd check the laws in NY anyways. Last I heard, NO tinting at all is allowed.

John I love the RS2, and it looks great. Now get some Gold Lines and drop that thing, a few of those photos make it look like you have a lift kit and will be 4X4ing. Trust me the ride of the Gold Lines is nice and the look is even better.

ive got 15% right now on the back 5 windows...and for christmas are getting all of them redone to 5%. I like the darked out look...ive had 5% before and am used to the vision restrictions...thats why i have Xenon bulbs...and am getting ready to get the HID retro-fit off a Toyota Celsior.

I payed $89 flat..they did a good job, i really like the way it looks at night, specially becasue i have the phantom grey pearl paint job...

I paid $120 for the tinting. Thanks for the compliments on the looks. I was seriously thinking about dropping it, but don't have the cash right now........ however it is Christmas time!

I'd suggest gold-lines....randode.com can hook you up. My ride is as good or better than stock, but it looks way better. That 2" drop makes a big difference and would make your car look even better.

My next thing will be tint, but I'll wait for spring and good weather. Nice ride john

it's crazy how much more expensive tint is up here. you paid $120, around here that would cost you $250.

Tints down here are expensive, too! I got mine for $250... including front windshield (30%).

when it comes to something like tint for you car, dont just go with the cheapest. make sure they do quality work. and just as important is the tint. make sure they use good tint (like llumar or something else with a lifetime warranty that wont fade).

And find out what their warrenties are, that's all that really matters, price is your personal preference. Like this one place up here will tint all the way around for about $200 , have a lifetime warrenty on fading and peeling/bubbling, and for an extra $30, if you get a ticket that requires you to take your illegal tints off in order to not have to pay the ticket (that's the case 90% of the time), the place will even put your tints back on after you get it taken care of.

When you say "small" what size do you mean?! Penny-sized?! Or smaller?! A couple of millimeters in diameter?! You may just be able to pop it miniscule hole into it with a safety pin and kinda push the air out.

If it's bigger than the size of a penny, I would take it back to get it looked at. I guarantee you they will just mesh it down and put a heat gun to it. If that doesn't work, they'll probably just pop it, too.

if it's water, just leave it. it will come out. if it's air, bring it back. dont pop it. it's tint not vinyl. if you put a pin sized hole in the tint the little spec of light will drive you crazy.

Haha!! I had an air bubble that I popped. I can't see anything through it. Safest bet is to go ahead and send it into the tint shop.

is it ilegal to not put the licence plate in front in your state?

Rear plate is required only in Alabama.

Nice ride. All you need is a drop and some b-pillers to go with the nice shine of your glass so it blends in.

some tints i've seen give off a purplish hue, why is that?, I'm thinking about getting tint. i'd like ot get black, but not too dark. Just interested to see if anyone here has, or ahve links to pics that have an SSM xA with silver tint. I'm just interested to know how it would look like. thanks

I've got 2% on all sides that's a 5% over a 40%, I know it's 2% cause that's what the officer said it gave. DIdn't take it off though.
