Default Gotta love the utility...

My wife and I stop by Lowes the other night to buy a super size washer. The clerk brings this massive box out and waits for us to pull up. I get a laugh at the shocked look on his face as he's expressing "What the !@#$, no way!"

I open the back, flip the seats down and the car swallows the washer, box and all and still leaves room all around. I close the hatch and start to drive away and the kid is staring out the window in disbelief.

My best box story yet. Too funny!

Great story. The xB is definitely roomy with the seats down. Enjoy the box.

Unbelievable! Did you measure beforehand or just go on faith?

Thats great. I made an unplanned purchase of a 5 shelf bookcase and was with my partner. She sat behind me in the 40 part of the seat and it fit with room to spare. I never realized how long the xB was until I had to haul the dang bookcase into my house.

For a funny little mini-box, the xB will swallow a whole lot of 'stuff.' Add in almost a half ton of load capacity, and 'The Little Box that Could' is rather amazing.

Yeah, i just went to Home Depot yesterday, cause were remodeling a house we just bought, and i loaded it up with two toilets + tanks and a pedestal sink and had plenty of room for more stuff to. got a similar look.
i was also moving stuff from one house to another and a large carved easel wouldnt fit in my friends chevy s10. he said, 'looks like your gonna have to borrow someone elses truck unless you want to strap it down hanging out.' i just grabbed it and stuck it in the box, no prob.
love it.
and with the short gearing, it dosen't seem to bog down like i would have expected.

This is why you should learn the interior dimensions of the xB.

That way you can be SURE the it will fit and you can shock them the first time, everytime.

How many clowns do you suppose could fit in an xB?

If by clowns, you mean Scion enthusiasts, i think the record stands at 18...

I got the same "What are you thinkin'?" looks when I pulled my Box up to the front door at Costco. I shut them up...

LOL, I don't know but back in my college days I stuffed 10 people into a 2door Chevette!
21 years later I don't think we could fit 4 of us in it LOL. Time takes its toll on the waiste line :-)

I surprised my wife a few times with how much we can fit. We got married on October 1st, so there have been plenty of occasions to move things. I moved pretty much everything out of the house I was at in one trip. Including a desk that went from the back of the front seat all the way to the inside of the hatch.

We were also able to fit every single gift from our 200 guest wedding reception in one trip. She stayed inside while I loaded. She was shocked when she came out and saw that I got "All that stuff in there."

And we did the same thing moving an entire living room worth of wedding gifts (more than the reception) into storage. People are amazed (including us owners) when they actually get to see how much room is inside of our little boxes.

I always enjoyed that with the Echo. At Costco, I'd be packing the trunk while people in mid-sized cars with less stuff would be sticking things in the backseat and floorboards.

I got the same reaction the other night when I purchased a 42" tv from Ultimate Electronics. When I pulled up to load it in everyone chuckled at me. I folded the seats down and it slid right in with room to spare.

heh yeah I went christmas shopping the other day and when I pulled the xb up to the entrance of best buy they started chuckling and made a comment of "you're gonna put all this in there?" and I said ... yeah you're right I should have bought that other tv as well ... oh well, i'll just do that later.
and I proceeded to fill up the xb and they just stood there in shock ... pretty funny..
