I went to the Speed World Dragway here in Orlando...

First Run - 1/8: 11.765 1/4: 17.925 Launched @ 4500rpm

Second Run - 1/8: 11.662 1/4: 17.810 Launched @ 5000rpm

Third Run - 1/8: 11.171 1/4: 17.263 Launched @ 4000rpm

Yeah...I only got 3 runs in... I didn't want to wait in line anymore. Not bad for completely stock, minus ground wires. I was wondering what others who've taken their x* to the track launched at. My third/last run was my best, but there was wheel hop...Next time I go to the track, I'll try launching @ 3800 to 4200 rpm...

I'll scan the timeslips later tonight or tomorrow...

Here is the scan of the timeslips... 60' are there... I need to work on my 60', need to find my rpm sweet spot for the launch...

Yeah, I got to the track around 5:30. Around 6:30, some BMW 3 series blew his radiator hose and the coolant had to get cleaned up...that took about 45 minutes, it started to get packed. I didn't want to wait an hour to run again...I was trying to find my sweet spot rpm to launch at. I'm gonna try 3800rpm to 4200 next time I go to the track...

Wish I had a 1/4 (or even a 1/8) mile in my backyard...

Very nice 60' on that last run. Definately shows in the 1/4 mile time.

hopefully i can take mine to the track today... I was actually expecting 17.4's 17.5's... but this gives me hope! congrats again on the decent times!

From those slips it looks like you should practice timing the tree. your reaction times are killing you.

1.3 secs on a rt is too much.

it's funny to see your best reaction time .950 is when you luanched @5000, you beat your first runs rt by a half a second but only got a tenth at the end.
did you have alot of wheel spin on that run?

practice the timing of the tree and you'll get into the 16's for sure :D

keep on trying,

Most trees don't have anything to do with overall ET's, they only determine if you really beat the other car or not

launching with your rpms that high on a car without awd is pretty high... i can only imagine how much you burned out. i know what you mean about the wheel hop, i got that when i launched mine around 3.5k... those times look really good... someone was saying that these things wouldn't get any lower that mid-17's stock.. you just got into the low 17's and i'm sure you could hit high 16's if you practiced it some more. :D

nice work! 8)

Theres several people that ran mid - low 16s with stock and mostly stock xB's..... I'd say it's all in the reaction and launch.

i think it was thefoth that was quoting you on that in another thread about that being bs and he'd like to see a time slip on it. these cars dont seem like 18sec cars... i wouldn't doubt it in an auto, but manual thats no way gonna be 18 sec...

i'm retarded, i forgot where a track was around socal... anyone got suggestions and pricing?

I don't care for my reaction time right now... It's my 60' that I'm worried about. It's still going to record my time correctly even if I waited 5 seconds after the car next to me has already left...

wow...leave your ego at the door. Who said we were going by 1/8 mile time?

The WRX had a bad run, it was doing 13.9s with just a axle back exhaust... He stopped running because they said he needed a helmet.

What'd you have in your civic that made it run 14.1?

my civic hatch ran 13.8's, b16 intake and a 50 shot =D 2.0 60's broke some mounts after that run so i decided not to spray off the line again unless it was important :D

i love wrx's and i knew he had to be driving horribly from that time, my buddys runnin 13.1 in his STi with only a BOV. My 89 civic hatchback had a GSR swap with full 2.5 thermal exhaust, nothing else.

Yea, but that 13.1 is in an STi, WRX's aren't that fast in standard trim!

since when is a BOV on a stock setup a performance mod?? Seriously??

I run 16's....

The fastest I've ran to date was a 16.19@92.8mph

That was with Kumho Z-Radials 18/215/35's and at 12psi for the front tires and 38psi for the rear tires.

3000rpm launch

and double clutched going into 2nd.

That was a PERFECT, FLAWLESS run, NO mistakes...

it was great, but yeah...lol

btw, STOCK, I ran a few high 16's, and like one low 17

Good Luck, and work on shift RPM's, and Launches...Took me about 4 trips to the strip in the box   hahahahaha

LATE.

Umm... double clutching would slow you down by about a second or two.

And BOV's don't do anything for performance. All they do is withstand more boost.

How are you running a second faster with 18's than stock cars with 15's?

do me a favor walk out to your stock box, check out the sidewall dimension of your stock tires and tell me what they are, I BETCHA they're around 55-60 now, that would be the same size as my 18's would be with a 35 sidewall...lol DO THE MATH bro.

And ANYONE that has the evening off tomorrow night, feel free to come on by Sacramento Raceway off Exeslior Rd., and check out the action. I believe tomorrow night is COPS vs. KIDS, so check it out!

i never understood why some people said that 18" wheels make the car slower because it's a bigger turning radius... i can see because of the weight, but the blacks aren't exactly a lot lighter. if i was up around sac area i'd go watch that.

Hey you guys, I'm sorry about blowing up. But, I was just a LITTLE frustrated at the fact that people here jump on you like a bunch of arrogant a-holes, kinda like High School bullies, cough cough "B.S. Flag" that was un-called for.

Yeah, ok, you guys don't believe me, thats ok, because I know I'm right, because I drive MY car... And I know what I run on the strip.

But anyways, I'll get to the point, I'm sorry and all, and I should've ignored it, like I did all the jocks back in HS...but hey, I guess those jocks are just everywhere!

I'm also very sorry for cursing on here...

Well, you guys take it easy...

Tylor,

I get the same heat when I start talking about my xB hitting mid 16s stock. People don't want to hear it. You know why? Me either. BUT, I do recall a whole ton of people on the forum talking about having trouble getting into certain gears... I do not have this problem.

My shifting is too fast for the syncs in these trannies, though...

TylorWeaver
05-20-2004, 09:01 PM
yeah, I hear ya. Its just not the Syncros, its just the torque of the engine, its VERY touchy and you have to know EXACTLY when to shift, how fast to shift, and how much to depress/press the clutch in for each of the gears, 1st into 2nd, and 2nd into 3rd primarily.

Yea, yea, this car isn't made to "GO", but some of us, with that need for speed in no matter what they drive, we like to go fast. So there. HA!

anyways, yeah, I agree, these cars are fun, and it DOES depend on the driver. I don't have problems anymore with my bB shifting into 2nd, because it just takes time breaking in the syncros, the gears, and also LEARNING how to drive and push this car to its limits PROPERLY.

So, take it easy Ya'll

LATE.
