For everyone who couldn't make it last time, we are scheduling another Palmer's "Wild-2-Mild" Showcase for March 4th, 2006. Last time... well wasn't all that great due to some messed up communications, but this time its just me and the owner working on this project. Hope to see everyone again and some new faces!

Why not just come to enjoy the drive? Meet a few people? Get ideas for future mods? Trust me...I lived in Shreveport for 7+ years...there's nothing going on there but gambling and drinking...Both of which could cost WAY more than a relaxing drive to Mobile. And according to your age, you can't do either legally anyway.
I will go if my wife and I are in Louisiana around that time. You could convoy with us to Baton Rouge, meet up with some more peeps from there, then meet up with peeps from New Orleans/Slidell, then truck it on down to Mobile! It might be fun, you never know!

I was box stock last yer, and it didn't matter at all. I tell you, some of the nicest folks show up there. It isn't about a trophy or really even competition, it is about getting together and having a great time!
I can understand the $$ situation, but, don't let that hold you back...It will be worth the drive...I promise!

So, how's the show shaping up for this spring?

I'll be there...I'm in the process of doing some tweaks to my ride so it at least looks a little different than last time everybody at Palmer's saw it. Hopefully the sun will be out this time, I didn't mind the overcast but it just feels better on a sunny day. Maybe Jay(windowtint) and Aaron(rehabcustoms) come out, I'm expecting them to show up with new equipment. Especially Jay and his one of a kind Bb windows. They were the guys with the 2 Lavas out last time, for anybody that came.

I'll most definately show up for this one. Lets see... 10 minute drive down airport to get to the dealership my car came from... yep I can make it :).

hopefully by then I'll actually have something more done to my car besides painted calipers, eleaneor shift knob, and a repainted head cover. lol

If they dont have food there I work for a place called Wings to Go... its just that. chicken wings, boneless or not, to go. Relatively cheap also. I could order tham and get money from everyone to make life easier. However, I will be out of town from Feb 25th to Mar 4th (get back in town around 7:00 AM) so I will out of computer reach. But if someone is serious about doing food and wants to get up with me, I'll give out my phone number.

Actually we have 2 Scions right now... that's it. 2. Dos. Two times one. They are still selling at a muy rapido rate. We should be getting a large Scion shipment between now and then, so the number on the lot will be anyone's guess.

Until this show becomes more of a "tradition" around here, we shouldn't expect a Palmer's Show Scion anytime soon either. :doh: I would freak out if given the opportunity to design that bad-boy.

But Sir, everyone else is doing it. Team Toyota even has their own auto-x car.
That's what I told my manager when I was working at a toyota dealership. He then let me take one of each and do whatever I had wanted to them to put on the showroom floor. We kept all three models for about 2 days.

Fazoli's, that is a great place. Decent prices too. I got an idea. Along with the prizes at the end, how about doing raffles at different times of the day and give out little door prizes. It got kinda boring just sitting around for like 6 hours. Also, how about get somebody out there to be a concessionist. If money is tight, it'll be ok because he can just sell whatever he decides to make. He could get some nachos or hotdogs, just something small. Pull the popcorn machine outside. That way the people that don't feel like leaving the show or spending alot of money, don't have to.

I cant wait to see what everybody had done to their rides. Hopefully I can get everything done to mine that I want to before the show. It's hard working on my car with 2 jobs.

Ok, since NM369 said that Palmer's will do dinner and we are on our own for lunch, I really suggest the wings thing. If at least 10 or 12 people can help me out with some money, (depending on how many wings we get), I will put in the order before I leave for mardi gras break.

Heres the deal with the wings, every 10 wings comes with a side of ranch or bleu cheese (so, 400 wings = 40 ranches). also, you can get normal wings or boneless wings. As for sauces there is mild, medium, hot, x-hot, suicide, homicide, BBQ, honey BBQ, Bar-B-Cide (spicy BBQ, pretty good actually), Buffalo Garlic (my favorite), Teriyaki, Cuury, Chesapeake Bay (nasty.. but whatever), Sweet and Sour, Lemon Pepper (really good), Honey Mustard, and Cajun

We can do as many sauces as we want, on the wings or on the side, and I will get a small discount (10-15%) since I work there. I'm just trying to gague interest on food for us.

Ok, here is how the show is planned to flow. Due to the high number of requests for late registration, if you have a concern, please PM me your name, address, phone, credit card info, bank account numbers, etc :P

Actually, I will need name, address, phone and e-mail. Then I can reserve you a spot for the show.

I intend for "registration" to last from about 12pm-3pm (arrive any time you would like in that range). Then we will begin judging soon thereafter and continue on til around 5pm when food gets prepared. We will do the tally and announce winners ASAP. Hopefully, it will start getting dark around that time and will allow for those with neon/LED/HIDs to show off your lighting. So here it is in list form:

12pm to 3pm - Registration
3pm to 5pm - Judging
5pm - food starts
5:30pm (or when tallying ends) - prizes

Okay! Here's a readers' digest version of directions. For those of you too lazy to type in an address on MapQuest.

I'm a "local" of Mobile, and I don't think there's any type of shortcut to get to Palmer's.

If you're coming from out of state, one way or another make it to I-65. From there take the Airport Blvd exit, which is Exit 3. Turn left is coming from the South. Turn right if coming from the North. Travel a LONG way (6 miles) down Airport. (The lanes will go from 6 lanes to 4 lanes (two each way).) Schillinger is the only major road that cuts into Airport when it becomes 4 lane. Look left and Palmer's is there. It's a HUGE monstrosity of a dealership!

It'll probably take 15-20 minutes to get from the Interstate Exit to Schillinger.

So they finally got rid of them. They really didn't sell too many of them anyways. When I worked at toyota for the 9 mths that I was there in 05, we had a brand new 04 that we had to give away just to get it off the lot.

I had a 2001. There were only 11,000 and some change sold in the US that year... and that was the highest year. In 2005 only 1500 or so were sent to the US. All 5 years of the Spyder only totally a little over 25,000 units.

In my books, they were priced to compete with S2000, but had the performance of a Miata. If it had the Celica GTS 2zz-ge engine and the same price tag, it would have been an awesome buy.

Well this sucks. I go in to work today and they tell me that they are going to bump me up to a forman for a week and if I do a good job, then the position is mine, BUT, if I miss Saturday, they will have to rethink the whole thing.
