Default How happy are you with your xB?

I'm a newbie here and would like to know how your ownership experience has been. I am looking to get an xB soon. How has reliability and quality been with your xB?

Liked mine so much for business I bought another for personal use. One's manual ones auto, I got the best of both worlds. Nothing wrong with either and would probably do it again.

I've had mine for over a year and it has never been back to the dealership.

In the first eleven months there has been nothing other than some minor checks and adjustments I had the dealer do at the first oil change.*

I'm very pleased with the xB - it's a very fun little beast.

* I'm ignoring the trip to the bodyshop to repair $1800 worth of vandalism after I'd put less than 500 miles on it. That wasn't a fault of the car.

Someone hit my xB less than 6 months after I bought it - looked like maybe some truck bumper put a 3-4 in. diameter dent over the rear left wheel. Insurance paid for it and it's as good as new. Here pretty soon I will finally take it in for it's first oil change since I bought it back on April 1st (I think they might have thought I was joking when I told them I would pay cash).

Only little problems I've had are ones that I caused myself like increased road noise from custom wheels and rougher ride from springs. The way I see it though if it's a little rough around the edges because of the mods it just makes it that much more a "mans" car.

Yeah, I kinda dealt with this the other day... my dh (dear husband) was getting onto the thruway, driving behind me in his tC. This one entrance is on a rather good incline so I'm just chugging along like the "little engine that could" and he comes up beside me, with a big grin, rolling his hand along encouraging me to go. Then flies ahead of me <sigh>

Yeah, yeah.... But I still got where we were going and I get better gas mileage.

O BTW, I LOVE my xB. First car I ever picked out just for me. Has everything I want... that I can afford anyways. I'd get another one in a minute!

I've had it for almost 2 years now and I still love it. Aside from a few very, very minor nitpicks, it's probably my favorite car I've ever owned and definitely the most I ever got for my money by far.

Let's get this straight...... You let that little pipsqueak get up ahead of you? Well there's the problem.

Try this... Below the dash on the floor is a long skinny pedal make sure that is pressed in all of the way and that should keep that sort of thing from happening.

I put almost 29,000 miles on mine in a year. No problems what so ever. I'd buy another one if something happened to mine.

I am very happy with my box. Gets attention, great gas milage and is fun to drive.

BUT,

This seems to be an isolated incident, but I have had two alignments done already (less than 1K miles) and I am still having problems with it driving perfectly straight. Partially the incompetent dealers service center, but Toyota should also get some of the blame since there is NO WAY a brand new car should need an alignment unless there was a bad part/s installed.

A lot of them times, its not the vehicle that is causing it to pull, but the driving surface (its hard to find a TRULY flat and LEVEL driving surface (even if it LOOKS level)) or improper wheel balancing or tire pressure. There is just a myriad of factors that go into how a car will handle, many cars handle the same surfaces with completely different results.

Not saying that is your situation, just seems to be the problem in most cases.

with minor details, the car is excellent. there are things i'd wish it had etc. but on the up an up, it's one of the best cars ive ever owned (had 5 prev.)
