Im looking at a 17x8 in a +35 offset for my car to ensure clearance for my big brake kit. A good way to look at is that the +40 offset will stick out 8mm further than the +48mm offset. DuMa 12-07-2005, 03:38 AM i have 17x8 +32 and its pretty flush all around. well it would be flushed whenever i decide to get an damn alignment. that is around 18mm-23mm wider than stock. the length that stick outs depends on the tire size you get. if you went with 235/40 with my set up, it would stick out 23mm. if you went with 225/45, it would stick out 18mm. imho the right length to get it flush is around 20-21mm difference from stock. stock is 17x7 +45 so in order to get it flush with 17x7 wheels, you need to get it a +25 or +24 offset with those wheels. its generrally harder to get those offsets on a small width wheel such as 7" so you'll have to look in the 17x8 and 17x8.5 variety. also if ur still confused. try using this calculator http://www.rims-n-tires.com/info_specs.jsp?text2=Sample%202:%20Honda%20Civic%20wheel&sw2=165&ar2=70&bd2=13&rd2=13&rw2=5.5&et2=40&text1=Sample%201:%20Hummer%20H2%20wheel&sw1=315&ar1=70&bd1=17&rd1=17&rw1=10.5&et1=10&pageTitle=Wheel%20/%20Tire%20Size%20Calculator%20/%20Comparer hope i helped out Motorsport_TC 12-07-2005, 05:08 AM I used to run 18x8 with a 32mm offset which ran fine -Keith- 12-07-2005, 05:18 AM I run a 18x8.5 with a 35 just perfect IndigoDreams 12-07-2005, 11:08 AM neither one of u guys except for the first person to respond accually read my questsion, I said with a 17x7 wheel which offset will look the most flush the 40 or the 48 thats all i asked and since the 40 will pull i t out more thats what i need. -Keith- 12-07-2005, 02:55 PM Sorry... 40 will put you closer but still will not be flush. JdtC3713 12-09-2005, 12:13 AM ^^ yup, you should get atleast +35. i currently have 18x7.5 +35 with 225/40. looks really good with my drop. :D boostedscion 12-14-2005, 08:00 AM this is an awesome post..
