SpdLmtNA,
Talk with your dealer about the hole. My drivers side mat did the same thing and they replaced the drivers mat for one that has a rubber strip where the heel sits. I haven't had any issues since.

I got mine online from Mcgeorges, I believe....
The OEM ones have had no problems with me and I love the two piece design for muddy conditions and such....
DO NOT BUY them at the dealer....

Chatted with a scion rep:
Devin:Hi, my name is Devin. How may I help you?
You: Hi, I have a 2005 tC, the drivers side floor mat got worn completely
You: can I go to a dealership and get this fixed under warranty?
You: (im sorry, not completely, but theres a big hole where my heel sits)
Devin: Your floor mats aren't covered under warranty but you can purchase a new one
You: whats the warranty on the actual mats then/
Devin: I'm sorry, you will need to contact your local dealership
Now Im goin to call my dealer, see if they can hook it up with a new mat

Wow... you must move your feet a lot or something.... my mat looks as good as the day I bought it, and I drive like a madman most of the time...
It'd be cool if they replaced it out of sheer customer service, but they could also say no way, just cause there's no way for them to tell if you didn't abuse the hell out of the mat and that's why its damaged...
Hope you get lucky and have a good experience with the dealer....
^^^^ LOL... "Good Experience with the dealer" LOL^^^^^^

They are cake to install... come with little "Hooks" which go into the holes you should see in front of your driver's seat... the others (passengers) just set down on top.
The Dealer's also come with a trunk mat, but I don't need it, so that explains a little bit... but really, it's just a huge markup for profit...
anyone... I mean anyone, can install mats without a problem and should order them online to save a reasonable amount of money

guess what... I actually went to the dealer yesterday after reading this thread... and I convinced them that the hole in my floor mat is too dangerous to drive with, so not only did they replace my drivers mat with an '06 mat (with the rubber shield), but they also gave me brand new floor mats all round!
I had a good experience at a dealer, its like warm summer breeze.

Great quality - you get what you pay for. My front factory mats look like hell with any use. The Bailey mats clean up real nice - dense carpeting, easy to vacuum - excellent quality! I bought the black - same color as factory. Match factory size exactly.
