View Full Version : what kind of accessories did you get? supitsmark 04-15-2004, 07:18 PM i was thinking of trd springs, trd rims, cargo liner, scion security, and maybe the aem intake. what did you guys get with your xb? and are there any cool accessories i didn't list that you'd recommend? obz 04-15-2004, 07:30 PM I'll tell you this much, don't get them from the dealership. If you buy them from someone else besides the dealership you'll save some MAJOR $$. I regret getting all the stuff I did from the dealer. I got rims, spoiler, cargo net, aplique, fogs, etc, etc, etc. I could've saved over $500 had I bought them from a parts dealer. Also, check into some other intakes. AEM is good, but not the best. 04-15-2004, 08:44 PM I got cruise, nothin else. bBted 04-15-2004, 08:48 PM i got AEM CAI (sold) foglights spoiler cup holder illumination hotchkis strut bar trd exhaust (sold) XBman 04-15-2004, 09:11 PM humm foglamps, spoiler ummm thats all LowNslow 04-15-2004, 09:25 PM spoiler & matts jatt 04-15-2004, 09:32 PM mats, trd springs, shocks, leather trd wheel, hotchis bar i got my rims aftermaket. so far my xB cost me 17k looking as is (thats including tax) k0an 04-16-2004, 07:17 PM I only got floor mats and the Orange AEM Intake with my RS1. I know that everyone bags on the AEM but it's only 1 hp difference. Also, I love orange... Since the orange version of the AEM is hard to find I didn't feel bad about buying it from the dealer. But, when it comes down to it... DON'T BUY ANYTHING EXCEPT FOR FLOORMATS FROM THE DEALER! You can get it all for about 40% less or more online. The dealer tried to sell me 18" rims for $3,000.... yeah right! I got 18" gunmetal wheels with tires mounted and balanced with no tax or shipping for $900! supitsmark 04-16-2004, 07:57 PM I only got floor mats and the Orange AEM Intake with my RS1. DJ_SpaRky 04-16-2004, 08:15 PM I'll prolly only get Fogs & the Spoiler, but if I can get the for less here (the Internet) I won't. I don't really like the TRD Stuff, but maybe that's just me. 8) MrSparkle 04-16-2004, 08:27 PM I got a bunch of the dealer installed stuff and with what I have found on the web now, I wouldn't have gotten as much stuff as I did from the dealer. The only good thing about the dealer is that if you dont have the money right now to add the upgrades after you buy it, you can get the stuff and have it included in your payment. If you have the cash to spend after then get aftermarket. The only thing dealer I would get if I could redo it would be the spoiler and fog lights. If warranty is what you are looking for then get TRD stuff and the AEM intake. Raven99 04-16-2004, 09:06 PM I've been thinking a lot about this issue too. I've decided to get the fogs, rear bumper applique, rear spoiler, cargo cover, bass tube, logo decal, stainless sill guards, floor/cargo mats and factory security system when I order my xB ;) Just over 17K as configured. I am going back and forth about getting the interior LED lighting. Right now it doesn't make the cut. The strut tower brace, wheels/tires, cold air intake etc I will get aftermarket :) already priced out some nice 18" enkie wheels /w bfg scorchers for about $900 from tires.com ;) I am doing everything I can this summer to save every penny for a decent down payment! I plan on orderiing my xB in September :D Munch 04-16-2004, 09:08 PM Nothing...................everything is cheaper if you get it yourself :D CubiXBb 04-16-2004, 09:29 PM Spoiler, foglights, and floormats. TheScionicMan 04-16-2004, 09:52 PM Floormats, rear bumper applique and useless joke of a cargo cover. The fogs can be picked up aftermarket for around $200 and takes 15 minutes to install save yourself 100-150 and feel good knowing you DIY: http://overboost.com/print.asp?id=1098 It really is this easy. The hardest part was putting the relay in. The printed instructions on that aren't as good as those pics on overboost. Still, it's a piece of cake... k0an 04-16-2004, 10:32 PM I ordered the wheels from www.wheelsnext.com They are still being delivered so I can't fully say that the company is good or bad. Also, www.victoriatire.com has great prices. I went with wheelsnext because they aren't in CA so I don't have to pay taxes :) scionxb04 04-16-2004, 11:33 PM only thing i got from the dealer was the sunroof.....everything else u can buy cheaper online....dealer options at the dealer with dealer prices suck... Bicepeak 04-17-2004, 12:14 AM Just mats for me....oh and window tint on the front windows to match the already tinted windows on the rest of my xB. Sean Scott17 04-17-2004, 03:13 AM I got em all. But I work for toyota so it wasn't that bad.~~~~~~~~~scott Rayman 04-17-2004, 03:15 AM Just RS1 package. 8) ayS 04-17-2004, 09:32 PM nothing, unless you count floormats, which the dealer said it came as "part" of the car and if they took it out, scion would be ____ed at that dealership. anyone else encounter that at the dealership? justchico 04-17-2004, 10:20 PM I got a lot of stuff from the dealer because I don't have the cash later down the road to get aftermarket. I got fog, moon roof, leather steering wheel, floor mats, 6 disc in dash reciever, spoiler, body graphic, 18" rims, trd exshaut, and TYC rear lights. I would have bought the intake but it was a little pricey and I'm going to put a forced induction (turbo, supercharger) later down the road. I didn't see buying it then taking it off later. I got what I wanted because I could make payments on it. JASciON 04-18-2004, 07:40 AM Yeah I had fogs, floor mats, TYC tail lights, and the RS1 pkg. Everything else is going in aftermarket. The coolest thing happened when I got my xB. Me and my manager were putting on the accessories on at the port and I was telling him the things I wanted on it and when the changes took place and showed up on our inventory list the wrong code for the tail lights showed up. I was ____ed because it showed up as rear tail light garnish so I told him that he must have pressed the wrong link for the tail lights. Well when it came in it had the TYC lights on it, but on the window sticker and the invoice it still said rear tail light garnish. So instead of getting charged $275 for the TYC's I was charged $125 for the garnish. I made out with an extra $150 less on the price. I forgot to put on the door sill enhancements but oh well. They do look good on the xB. Maybe i'll get them later on. SciJen 04-19-2004, 12:48 AM foglights TRD Euro taillights Cargo Convenience package Spoiler I really wanted the interior illumination but It's so expensive and not worth the $$$ ljthegr8 04-19-2004, 04:36 AM i got the: 18" trd rims fog lights floor mats my rims didnt cost no 3000 bills...i paid 1700 for all 4 with pirreli z-rated tires...soo its not to bad supitsmark 04-19-2004, 04:49 AM foglights TRD Euro taillights Cargo Convenience package Spoiler I really wanted the interior illumination but It's so expensive and not worth the $$$ what do the trd euro tail lights look like? mikochu 04-19-2004, 04:58 AM foglights TRD Euro taillights Cargo Convenience package Spoiler I really wanted the interior illumination but It's so expensive and not worth the $$$ what do the trd euro tail lights look like? SciJen probably meant the TYC Elegante Euro taillights... satanisanerd734 04-20-2004, 09:03 PM i got everything that comes on the lava xB plus the 18'' enkeis.....and the euro tails. Max2k 04-21-2004, 02:04 AM I got that crappy cargo cover and nothing else, but i'm going to throw down for some silver pedal covers and maybe the door sills. Lance 04-21-2004, 03:08 AM spoiler...nuff said rogcjms 05-17-2004, 11:26 PM hey do u guys know if the door sill enhancements are just stickers? theres a store on ebay selling them for $40 and in the description it says "just peel and stick". TheScionicMan 05-17-2004, 11:44 PM WHo knows what they might be selling on eBay, but I'm guessing they are talking about two-sided mounting tape. windowtint 05-17-2004, 11:51 PM They're metal with double sided tape on the back. Hence "peel and stick" Max2k 05-18-2004, 12:17 AM Don't buy the interior LED lights, they're overpriced and dim. If you want illumination, go for some Cold Cathodes. Randode sells a kit for $100 that blows the $300 OEM ones out of the water, or you can hit www.svc.com and wire them yourself for a lot cheaper. Magnus 05-18-2004, 02:54 PM Just RS1 package. 8) Ditto. This is my Daily Driver , and also my wifes car so all most go through she who must be obeyed  So we are going to keep the mods light, I have added walmart $10 rubber mats and will will add a shifter handle and pedal cover, window tint for the front two windows, and some 15" rims with 195/55 r15 when I wear the stock tires out. We drive 30000 miles a year so ride qaulity gas milage and relaiablity is all require. Also is cargo area so no sub boxes either. The only scion accesory we may add is a cargo net and foglights. Pulse 05-18-2004, 02:58 PM RS1, Auto, Cruise Went back later and bought the floor mats (got them $10 cheaper by just buying them). Everything else (especially Rims, bazooka tube and lighting mods) seemed waaaaay over priced. Phishin_Osky 05-18-2004, 10:09 PM I only got the options that I wanted under the original warranty and things i didnt want to do myself. Spoiler Fog lights Bumper applique Sway bar Floor Mats Almost went with the 14 spoke twist but I will probably change later on and want the hubcaps for the winter Cyas 2tone_xB 06-27-2004, 01:33 AM Just a custom 2 tone paint job and mats. As everyone else is saying, dealerships overcharge. Want some deep dish rims, but that will take me a while. Carbon Fiber stuff and flip down screen is in thought also... Jay 06-27-2004, 05:00 AM TRD rims...thats all scottwood2 06-27-2004, 11:13 AM I got that crappy cargo cover and nothing else, but i'm going to throw down for some silver pedal covers and maybe the door sills. Same here but I may have the dealer take it back when i pick it up Monday. A lot of thought went into this thing, NOT. |
