what do you think about this?
let me know what you think about this: scion xb with an intake, headers, and supercharger. i don't want to change to an aftermarket exhaust because i want it to look like a total sleeper. will the lack of an aftermarket exhaust system hamper the performance of the supercharger? i don't know what brand of supercharger i want, but i think blitz will be the one. any ideas on this?

Know let's review: Honda Civic Si, 2850lbs, 166HP= ~142 whp, runs the 1/4 mile in 15.5-15.8.
Scion xB with 170 whp, 2400lbs: Weighs 400lbs less and 30whp more. That equates to ~high 14's to low 15's easy.
Know looking at all the cars out there....that will put a good fight to a lot of them. Especially when they don't expect it. Toital sleeper.
Now go a step farther....when cams come out, custom tuned pcm and a 25 shot of nitrous, forged pistons.....and so on....at 2400lbs it can be very fast.

I definitely have to say no way unless you plan on boosting alot. I think realistically 170hp would be to the flywheel and not to the wheels with all those upgrades.
This is based upon the optimal output so far from most SC kits for our engines having been around 120-130 to the wheels. So where does the other ~40whp come from? Doubt its from just a I/H/E.

170whp is wishful thinking.... I am estimating on a good reliable kit we'll be lucky to see 135 - 150 whp. Toyota motors are known for being able to handle boosted applications however... but tuning is the key... Let's hope our internals can handle 170whp =D
thanks for the replies guys. realistically, all i wanted was about 150hp. i know it's not much, but it's enough for me. the reason i want it to be sleep is, i don't want anyone calling me out to race. i had a civic before, naturally aspirated, all motor. and i couldn't go anywhere without attracting attention and racers.
