Satellite radio rocks!!! if you're wanting to buy an aftermarket HU, make sure you get one that is an XM or Sirius controller so all you'll need is a receiver and anteanna..

one word...MyFi.
(car/home/office/walkman...)

It has a line out that i ran to the aux in of my AVIC N1.

if you don't have an IN-port on your radio, you would need to do an FM-mod. do the hard wired version. about 20 bucks.

FM modulators are difinitely not the way to go..... one of the main points of satellite radio is CD quality.....FM modulator will only give you FM quality....

IMOPO, I wouldn't go with the myfi....mainly cause I get satellite radio at home already(free) and I hate having the extra gadgets cluttering up the car...... again, just my opinion...I like being able to control the Sirius from my HU

What brand and model of aftermarket deck do you have? My wife's Civic has a Pioneer with an adaptor that allows her to hook her MyFi up directly. It's great, and I found out she just ordered one for me. FM modulation will work, but direct is better. Mark

I have the Pioneer Premier DEH-P960MP and my girl is getting the XM tuner for me for christmas. Just wanted to know if it was better from the HU or the XM Radio. Thanks for the info. Will definetly stick with just the HU.

thats why i said the wired version.
it retains the quality because it is hard wired in.

if it was not a wired FM mod, i would not recomend it.

if she is getting the pioneer tuner, it will work flawlessly. will work just like a CD changer.

Hmmm.....I don't have any experience with a wired FM Modulator.....always just stayed away from them all together.... that's cool though...didn't know you could get them in that configuration

Yup, dgHotLava is right on. If it's the Pioneer unit you just connect it to the back. If it's not grab one of the following cables to access the AUX in http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1115366647513 or http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn..._35681,00.html Mark

As much as I hate to admit it this method works better than you'd think. While not the greatest, the lion's share of people would never know the difference. Mark
