Magic 12-08-2005, 07:16 PM hey guys well am having a little crisis here i really want to chip my tc i been looking around alot doing some reaserch nd just cant seem to find anything with promising results. what do you guys suggest which chip would make the bigest diffrence need helppp.
Scion-ce 12-08-2005, 07:27 PM ummm.... last time I checked, there were no chips for the tC. The closest thing is Camcon, but that hardly constitutes a chip

aarontrini85 12-08-2005, 09:09 PM unichip..... comes with base maps....
did they release a 2az unichip yet?? if so ill jump on that bandwagon but no other piggy backs are worth it in my opinion since they will all be corrected for untill a solution comes up
-Keith- 12-08-2005, 09:32 PM http://www.unichip.us/vehicle_search.asp
Yep 2 base maps for tc right now
Stu_Gotti 12-08-2005, 09:43 PM Ok.. bottom line.. I buy this unichip.. install it... just choose a base map and go? I guess I dont understand how to use it.. It does increase your overall whp though?
aarontrini85 12-08-2005, 10:02 PM haahaha im going to have to call bs on unichip i know there a good company but trd header??? and 180lbs tq stock tc??? wtf lol
but ill try and call them up tomorrow and talk to them and see what they say if all is good ill order one of these bad boys up
and stu gottie this is like buying a safcII but better or buying a greddy emanage same concept it alows you to tune your car
Stu_Gotti 12-08-2005, 10:11 PM I just talked to the owner of the guy here in Maryland that has the certified tech for unichip. Seemed like a pretty cool cat.. I will call back tommorow and get pricing and all. I got a good understanding after talking to him about what this does. He said they'd dyno the car, and set the base map and do the stuff for me.. that way I dont screw ____e up. I gotta drive all the way to Mt. Airy though.. Eeeesh.. 118 miles.
Simplyscion 12-08-2005, 10:13 PM Yea, just to give everyone the heads up even though they come with a base map for the car it still runs like crap. This still has to be tuned on the dyno to your specs but its one of the most efficient piggy backs out right now.

You got that right. If you get it don't put it in until you can get it dyno tuned. You'll thank yourself later.
sweet on 61 miles to mt airy for me, what is the pricing for all this?
Stu_Gotti 12-08-2005, 11:39 PM I dunno.. should know tommorow. Goto the unichip site.. look up dealers.. and see. :)
corpan32 12-09-2005, 12:31 AM Does anyone know if the unichip can switch between street and race mode?
TurboCustomz 12-09-2005, 12:34 AM Does anyone know if the unichip can switch between street and race mode?
Yes, it has two switchable maps.

Munch 12-09-2005, 12:45 AM Does anyone know if the unichip can switch between street and race mode?
Yes there is a switch to switch between the 2 maps. There is also a switch to reset the computer if you ever get a CEL.
-Keith- 12-09-2005, 12:48 AM last time I checked unichips were running 700
Stu_Gotti 12-09-2005, 12:59 AM Sounds about right.. that was the ballpark figure I got.. vaires with vehicles though. It comes with two, but cant you make more maps?
-Keith- 12-09-2005, 01:44 AM yea but I think it can only have 2 preloaded.
tcholic 12-09-2005, 01:50 AM damn but dyno tuning=money....tuning is expensive huh?
-Keith- 12-09-2005, 01:53 AM not really... 100 bucks a hour on avg
TurboCustomz 12-09-2005, 03:37 AM You have to be careful because most people will charge 100 an hour for the dyno plus their labor rate to tune. Make sure you understand whats going on up front. It is however, WELL worth the money.

Munch 12-09-2005, 10:34 AM not really... 100 bucks a hour on avg
Not for the Unichip guys. It was $150 an hour to dyno tune my car at an auth Unichip dealer. It takes about 3-4 hours for the tuning process.
Simplyscion 12-09-2005, 01:01 PM dam...when I got my xB tuned after I put the turbo on it cost me $150 for about 2 1/2 hours.
Magic 12-09-2005, 11:43 PM thats stilla good price there is a shop here athat scharges 65 for 3 runs
