Default Hatch problems in winter?

i havent heard of any other scions, let alone any other car doing this, but does anyone's hatch get stuck "open" in cold weather? In the morning when its around 0-15 degrees (Indiana sucks), i open my hatch with ease, but once i go to close it, it just bounces shut....it doesnt latch down. It took about 3 hours before it would shut and stay latched shut. My guess is it isnt the weather, because NO other car that i know of does this. Any ideas?

I remember reading last winter about some other tC's doing it. The latch is freezing on them i think some used a lighter or something similar to thaw it out to get it to shut but took them to the dealers to get some permanent fixes done on them. I didnt look for the thread i know its old but ill search it may still be out there but i remember this happening last winter. I barely ever open my hatch so i dont have the problem or atleast dont know if i do. just my thoughts

i got a problem with the latch when its wet. When I open it water pours down the back seat instead to the side "gutter". ____ing me off.

Yeah, this one has been reported in many threads in the past.

As far as the hatch, you might have to spray the hatch mechanisms with some lubricant....
