View Full Version : Dyno'd my S/C tC with stock pulley then ZPI pulley
HighlanderMac 12-10-2005, 11:51 PM Well, I just got back from dynoing my car today. I was pretty happy with my results.
I first dynoed the car as it sat with the stock pulley, intake, and 3" header back exhaust.

Here is the 1st pull Dyno Sheet:

I then took the car off the dyno and installed the Bosch 110 Sport BPV and the ZPI 9lb Pulley, and a Megan Racing Boost Gauge (Just cause I ended up doing it) (Pics of that to come later).
Here is the 2nd Pull Dyno with the New BPV and the New Pulley:

Here is a sheet of the two best pulls on eachother:

mattssi 12-11-2005, 12:02 AM Nice! can't beat that for the price
retrodrive 12-11-2005, 12:20 AM Those headers are your bottleneck. Good numbers!
Nick06tC 12-11-2005, 12:37 AM Nice numbers, I am going to order the same i think
HighlanderMac 12-11-2005, 01:06 AM Here's a video of the second pull. Please right click, save as. This is being hosted courtesy of my car club.

gjpjr84 12-11-2005, 01:13 AM go trevor kick butt! can't wait to see it next time we're at the same place
Munch 12-11-2005, 01:13 AM Sweet base run with the exhaust and homemade intake. Get a header on that thing and you'll make even more power 8)
DTRUONG_112 12-11-2005, 02:03 AM nice numbers
JT_Scion 12-11-2005, 05:12 AM Awesome! I've been running the ZPI pulley for about 3 weeks now.. no problems.. such a quick and cheap way to pick up some horsepower :P Have you been able to check the boost level changes on the boost gauge?
HighlanderMac 12-11-2005, 05:39 AM Yeah, I am running 9 lbs, sometimes I hit around 9.5, all depending on what RPM I manage to take it too.. lol.. I cant wait to get some headers on her, hope to be close to 250 with some headers.
Ltrain 12-11-2005, 05:57 AM i heard getting aftermarket pulleys change the engine timing which isnt good 4 the motor... any truth to this?
the415_Dallas 12-11-2005, 06:06 AM you're thinking about cam gears which can advance or retard the cam timing. that's not the same thing as a boost pulley. the pulley trevor installed today was a smaller pulley on the sc to increase boost.
what an easy install trevor. that impact worked wonders.
HighlanderMac 12-11-2005, 06:14 AM Hahahah, Yeah, no kidding... time to get me one.
tcholic 12-11-2005, 09:40 AM wow very impressive #'s i cant wait to put the s/c on mine
Get an emanage ultimate and work on that a/f and bump up the rev limiter while your at it. Still looks like you can make some more power.
tikbhoy 12-11-2005, 05:07 PM +1 for the s/c
congrats on the dyno
greenfire 12-12-2005, 01:27 AM You are running lean! Get that tunned asap.
TurboCustomz 12-12-2005, 02:14 AM You are running lean! Get that tunned asap.
Its not lean. With the progressive nature of a S/C, that a/f graph actually looks really good. I don't think I would want to lean it out much more then that on pump gas, but it looks really nice. I'd say its safe right where it is.

I suppose, but without an intercooler I think we need the extra fuel to keep the intake temps cooler. This was a big issue on my trd supercharged matrix. With past superchargers, TRD would set the tune rich to compensate for not having an intercooler.
I would like to know what the TRD a/f ratio is supposed to be. The use of an intake leaned it out a bit on the Matrix.... along with additonal tunning to what was considered a "safe" a/f... resulted in toasted cats and in one case a blown engine. If TRD says the a/f should be a certain ratio, than thats what everyone should strive for.
Everyone is jumping on the bandwagon with these pulleys and mods without really knowing what the a/f should be.
HighlanderMac 12-12-2005, 04:22 AM The AF was basically the same before and after the Pulley...
That is a reason I had the dyno before the pulley then after the pulley, to see what the difference was in the AF, and, well, it is right about the same.
Sooooo... I dunno.
gjpjr84 12-12-2005, 04:27 AM i think hes looking for one without an intake.
I know somewhere around here is a dyno pull with a SC RS1 and all that was performance modded was the TRD exhaust. the sheet there should have the AF ratio he is looking for.
tcholic 12-12-2005, 07:20 AM damn i cant wait till trd comes out with an intercooled system......
tikbhoy 12-12-2005, 09:59 AM You are running lean! Get that tunned asap.
my a/f ratios are almost the same as him, i still have the stock box but now im running a k&n box filter minus the carbon filter on top.
il dyno it on the same dynapack to see changes.
but im watchin this thread for progress too.
once again, props for the 200+ power
greenfire 12-12-2005, 03:14 PM IF the A/F ratios are staying "TRD stock" with these mods, then that is a very good thing!!
JT_Scion 12-12-2005, 08:01 PM Has anyone dyno'd a SC'd tc with intake, header, full exhaust yet? seems like we've all dyno'd but none of us have had all those parts yet.. all mismatched. And all you need is a header so you are closest! get to it! haha
Scion-ce 12-12-2005, 08:19 PM I will have all those pieces hopefully by the end of the year. I am still waiting for DraXas to release their header-back exhaust with resonator. Should be out in 2 weeks or less. Still waiting on ZPI to release their intake for the supercharger. And still waiting for a competent header that doesn't throw a CEL. (perhaps DraXas). Will be ordering the pulley VERY shortly. Just waiting for NST's results. Hopefully, this setup will bring me to 250whp.

NST's pulley is now available and the quoted boost is 9.1psi.

You'll get alittle over 250whp with a supercharger pulley swap (9PSI), header, intake, full exhaust(including s-pipe), and a lightweight crank pulley :lalala:

JT_Scion 12-13-2005, 02:44 AM haha ... yea munch.. its like you know someone with all that stuff thats dyno'd before and gotten over 250 hehehe
ZPIracing 12-13-2005, 02:51 AM nice gains....Glad to see the numbers are being duplicated consistently in diffrent parts of the country. Time for the ZPIracing intake and FMIC.....

Speaking of which ZPI, what is the deal on the supercharger intakes and FMIC?

HighlanderMac 12-13-2005, 04:29 AM I should hopefully have the Header by the end of the year.. All depends on how my XMas goes.. If I spend more on gifts then I get.. hahaha
To those who have the supercharger do you know if they are only releasing it with the new 06 purchase. Ive called around town and im still getting "its coming out soon" response.
I apologize for thread jacking.

No biggie, but the S/C is out.. You should be able to get it at your local dealer... If not, there are some companies online that are selling them for the same price, if not a lil lower.
ZPIracing 12-13-2005, 02:48 PM hey i was looking around it seems to me that this is the most powerful S/C tC that has dyno charts to prove it. I may be wrong but I have not seen a higher chart on a Supercharged car.
JT_Scion 12-13-2005, 03:02 PM ^^ that was a brilliant post from a sales point of view... cause now i want to buy more mods so that i can be the most powerful s/c tc haha i see what you're up to. :P
Scion-ce 12-13-2005, 03:09 PM Hey ZPI,
Whats the story with the supercharger intake?

AW! SNAP! kick a$$ TREVOR!
HighlanderMac 12-13-2005, 08:53 PM Hehehehhe.... JT_Scion consider this a race ;-)
hehehe, we will see.. but I think Munch is beyond me, but hell, maybe it will push him to show us a dyno sheet.. :-P
HighlanderMac 12-13-2005, 08:55 PM So does this mean someone would like to possibly sponser me a little bit??
gjpjr84 12-13-2005, 09:51 PM or sponsor me so I can beat them all..... :lalala:
jwaggz82 12-14-2005, 12:39 AM Hey ZPI,
Whats the story with the supercharger intake?
anybody know the answer to this question?

Somebody should probably make a seperate thread for this instead of having everyone put it in a different thread... I have seen this question in like 4 other threads.. Just make another thread about it... dang...
