Default Cargo Bar in the xB

Alright, gotten tired of groceries nearly falling out of the cargo area. First mod, two Office Depot paper boxes. Second (today, 04-17-04), Highland Ratching Cargo Bar (40"- 70").

Where I got em from:
1. Office Depot box from my job
2. Advance Auto Parts store. Cost before tax $28.99 in the Truck Accesories section.

Review:
I like how it ratches instead of some other bars. The flat ends hold by a ball mechanism so it can fit on curvy surfaces. Holds pretty tight. During installation there's a bunch of noise. Because it's all metal. But during driving and driving over not so smooth roads, I could barely hear anything. Hmm, I wonder if this can be classified as a suspension upgrade. Yeah, corner carver, woohoo.. :D

Don't over do the ratching action though. If the bar is placed too tight, the area you are clamping it may bow or flex.

Material. Well, Highland is well known as a truck accesories company. Nice finish. Love the silver, matches my TCM nicely. BLING! :D

Nice item. Looks like it will do the job.

The "groceries falling out" problem is unique to the US market xB, since the bB has a deeper cargo area without the spare.

You can just take out the spare and all the foam pieces if you want, you end up with a well about 5" deep.

Yeah, I thought about that too. My other option was to remove the spare and place it in the rear foot area. Maybe push the front seats closer to the dashboard. I don't carry people in the rear. Not asthetically pleasing but should suffice.

Looks handy, good find! What I want to know is where to get the cargo cover that the xA has for the xB, THAT would be nice! I hate the cargo cover they offer for the xB... :?

Ask for paper instead of plastic. Paper won't slide around and you will make less trips because they fit 15 bags worth of plastic in 3 papers bags.
