Default How long does it take you to wax your xB?

I'm just wondering how long it usually takes everyone to wash, wax, and clean out your xB??? I'm wondering because it seems like if I want to completly clean the interior, wash the outside, and wax it takes me about 5 or 6 hours.

Yeah, at least 5 hours to wash, clean, polish and wax. That's not including the interior, tires, and the windows.

I can wash and wax my box in 90 min.
To do the interior, glass, rubber etc takes longer. Much longer.
But once you get used to a clean box it is hard to tolerate a filthy box.
It’s infectious too. GF started waxing too.

Once I got into the Zen of the wax I started taking vitamins and eating more
fiber and fruit. I stopped polluting, and saved more money.
I can communicate with animals now. I am losing weight and
feel fitter. Through wax I got a life. I am a fully human being now,
and it is good. I now spend hours meditating on the beads of water as I drive.
There is more to wax than wax. Excuse me, I have to go now, some men in white
coats are knocking at the door.

5 to 6 hours? You guys sure you have Scions? Take me like 2 hours to clean inside and out, including the engine. That's also including clay bar and wax. I thought I was slow

takes me about 45 mins to wash, dry, wax. (exterior and engine)
about 30 mins to do windows (in and out) dash, vacuum.

thats my normal wash job.

if i go crazy (twice a year) remove rims to clean the entire wheel/tire. full polish on all bare metal. (hose clamps, exhaust, motor, valve cover...)
do paint repairs....dent removals and such...
about 5 hours

Weekly wash (includes interior and wiping off engine bay) - 2-3 hours
One week of each month, wash+wax - total time start to finish 5-7 hours, as stated above, more if theres booze involved.
show wash/wax - spread out over two days prior to show, the wipe at show. so a total of about 30 hours.

Default long time for that

You guys take 5-7 hours to was and wax your xb? I can completely detail 2 if not 3 of them in that amount of time. From top to bottom and inside and out. I agree with the latte drinkers. But its always good to know that people take this much pride and put this much care into their rides. Keep it up

I know I'm running the risk of covering a topic that's somewhere on Scionlife but...

My XB is 4 months old now and I keep it clean and covered.

But I think it's time for wax.

Suggestions..clear coat compatible...with NO SCRATCHES on the clear coat after applying.

Applicators & wax reccomendations would be appreciated.

NXT wax, meguiars applicators work great. Use a micofiber towel to take the wax off, or you can use a old white t-shirt. Both works great and because you are just taking off wax, t-shirts don't scratch at all. (plain white, no patterns or anything) Also, when you are done waxing and removing the wax, go back over it with a microfiber towel (clean one obviously) and just wipe the it down. You may have missed one or two things and the out come will be even more eye approving. Trust me.

Just be sure to wash your car very, very well in details before you wax it. You don't want to wax in any dirt.

I recommend waxing the box at least every two months, really do it more if you have the time to do it. Four months IMO is just too long.

Good luck and enjoy it!

Cya
