Yup the stock tires sure do suck in ice and snow as I've been finding out lately. Now I know that my ABS definitely works though :P

My ABS is going off like crazy here in Ohio. This is my first car with ABS....is it supposed to sound really nasty(loud "boinging/grinding") when they kick in?

oh snap! I nearly did the same crap this morning on Route 7.. it was AWFUL. i didn't think the roads were icy at all.. then I became blinded by the sun, realized at the last moment traffic was at a dead stop and nearly slammed into the back of someone because it was too icy and I couldn't stop the car quick enough.. luckily i just slipped into the other lane just before I would've hit the person. Scared the S outta me though..

No doubt! We had an ice storm yesterday, it rained and melted, then re-froze into a solid sheet today. The commute was fuuuuuun... :nails:

All we ever get in NC is that stupid ice.

I hate NC..

I hate ice..

After extensive travel I've decided I want to move to AZ in a baaaad way.

Anybody got any jobs out there? I'd happily crawl under a sand dune! LOL!

you got the same storm we did, but we also got a small touch of snow.

Yes indeed. Usually, when the northern part of NC gets something, VA has the same system to deal with. I still have vivid memories of visiting friends in Richmond and driving through icy roads. You guys seem to get more snow though, and have better infrastructure to deal with it. Id prefer snow over ice anyday! :)

hmmm... what about SC? interesting.........keep talking

Sanjuro

SC generally has a warmer climate, but when they do get ice (hardly ever snow) its BAAAAD.

Some SC positives:
Cheaper gas prices (cheapest in the nation)

They replace windshields for free from what I am told

No state inspection of vehicles.

I think the women are more attractive in SC for what its worth.

Some SC negatives:

No real centers of higher learning like Duke University in Durham or UNC -Chapel Hill

No center for technology like RTP in NC

Um, be prepared to see a LOT of rebel flags in SC

and Bob Jones university is headquartered there. RUN! :lalala:
