May be a n00b question, but I'd like to know. I know the TRD Supercharger is manual only.

Sure it can. The TRD one will be available with a kit to install on an auto. And turbo automatics can be pretty quick since you never have to let off the gas between shifts.

Someone also makes a kit, so you can install the trd on a manual. im drawing a blank on its name tho

i think sciondad put a turbo in his auto with some modifications. search some of his posts.

i am getting more and more interested in putting a turbo in my auto too but its probably going to be a long way off for me. leaves alot of time for research though! :P

Turbo automatic is nice, you never fall out of boost between shifts. Its a constant feeling of being pushed back in your seat.

If you all just wate until the end of January I will have all forged internals and an upgraded setup from the stage 1 ZPI kit. There is a lot of other stuff but we'll leave that for when its done.

I believe Kenny said something about this to me. All I can say is....That is going to be one sick setup. I can't wait for you to release the final product to the forum.

and i hope appropriately you are automatic? :D

but anyway, i hope more people go turbo/auto, because as i have been debating going turbo myself, the biggest argument against it has been NO LSD IS OUT THERE FOR US.

the stage 0 turbo with intercooling gives around 250whp, plus the exhaust i already have will tack on another 8-15, and then emanage tuning will give it another jump of anywhere from 10-20. all that with an open differential? that's crazy.

Yes I have an auto.....that is being beafed up also. They are talking somewhere around 400hp on 91 octane and....lol up there quite a bit more with raceing fuel. The numbers will tell in due time.

Racingsolution's site says the ZPI Stage 0 will work on an automatic. Dunno if it's true, though.

ZPI's turbo kits do work with the automatics. Take ScionDad for example...

what can be done to an auto to make it handle more power?

what can be done to an auto to make it handle more power?

replacing the torque converter. replacing a lot of the springs, and replacing all of the weak parts in the actual transmission.

however, the tC auto tranny can handle up to about 250whp safely (as a daily driver)

are these parts readily available or do they have to be mixed and matched? sorry for all the Qs, im new to autos.

im sure if you were to go to a shop that specializes in beafing up the auto tranny, they would have something. But as far as buying the parts off of a website, youre out of luck.

Torque converters on the otherhand are definetely available. Search for the Level10 torque converters.

However, if you are looking to stay under 250whp, you wont "need" to do anything to your transmission.

Well my car is at ZPI as we speak. So if all goes well they will have our tranny problem fixed.

have they given any thought to making something so that the SC works with the auto tranny?

I have no clue but I know that one of the sponsors on Scion Life has the kit you need. Just look around. Its out there.
