yes... i put on my header AFTER my sc was installed. It is a horrible pain but it is doable. Kinda dissapointed w/ the exhaust tone afterward but I kinda new that before. Also reinstalled my WR Damper w/ the new custom strut tower bracket since the one supplied doesnt fit when they rerout the AC line.

OH!.. any BTW... if anyone has a stock muffler section they would be willing to sell let me know.. the exhaust is just too loud now.. but im not sacrificing the performance of the headers. I think it will kinda add a little sleeper aspect to my car too.

any seat of the pants feel of improvement with the header?

madigan923
12-20-2005, 01:12 AM
low end torque feels improved. and w/ the extra top end hp w/ the pulley it just pulls great from 3k till redline. w/ my 18" BFG KDW's its spins all the way through 2nd. i only wished i'd dynoed before i put em on so i would know for sure.

heh... i have the TRD... but i think i want to hold on to it just incase i feel the urge to go hang out with all the highschool kids w/ their 4dr civics w/ 4" mufflers...

(and just to be policaly correct, im not bashing civics or highschoolers)

did you have to take off your belt and move your alternator to fit the header on ?

madigan923
12-20-2005, 02:09 AM
the only reason i had to move the altinator was to get at the lower left header bolt. and to be honest i kind of cheated... i cut the ond exhaust manifold in half w/ a sawsall to make it easier... the new headers slipped right in easy.

Buy the precisionmuffler axleback while it's still on sale....

Very well priced and GREAT no-rasp tone to the tC's with header setups.

why didnt you just use the supercharged emblem that came with the SC?

Nick06tC
12-20-2005, 10:45 PM
I like the supercharger emblem. I put the one on that came with it. But i like the one you have better. I want to find on the same color and all as the tC emblem.

Nice setup, I was thinking of adding the Alphaworks header but wasnt sure baout the S/C clearance for install. But I guess I will be ok. I dont like that you have alot of rasp tho.

I am running HKS exhaust so i imiagine the same outcome.

Nice tho.

ya.. i looked for like an hr @ emblems... and that one really stuck out. they come in packs of 2 to i put the other on the dash below the center vents w/ the trd sticker above the vents..

i was looking at precisionmufflers website and that axleback sounds like the way to go... i just dont like sounding like a ricer... and everyone knows that sound im talkin about. i like a low deep tone.

WeDriveScions
12-20-2005, 11:31 PM
You will still sound like a 4 cylinder car.. But not raspy....

If you want a REALLY deap tone... 2az-fe is not the way to go for it :P

madigan923
12-20-2005, 11:43 PM
ok ok... i said that wrong... not deep tone like V8's... but just a nice low hum w/out the rasp...

In that regard... you should be happy the the Precision exhaust setup.

Instigator is going to post his thoughts on it as well soon.... in the N/A section

same here. I just installed a megan header on one of my friends tC who also has the HKS exhaust and man does it have rasp. It gets really raspy at higher RPMs but regular driving is okay.

Good luck with trying to get the header on without removing the alternator lol. You will find out rather quickly that you will have to move it out of the way. There is not enough room to get at that last nut with the supercharger bracket and shaft in the way.

I agree, the HKS does sound pretty good. What exhaust are most TRD SC guys using anyway? Do most people use the TRD one?

I actually just ordered precision muffler's axle back exhaust. from what i hear its the quietest exhaust w/ headers. lookin forward to install and posting results. I honestly want to hear the supercharger more then the exhaust.. but I dont think i could deal w/ stock... too quiet. i'll post vids when all is said and done.
