Default Custom Dash gauges ***UPDATED PICS AGAIN 27th***

***Ok new pics 26th***

This is what Ive decided to go with this year. Im sure Ill change it later on.

Heres the pics of the lower pocket. I still have a little adjustment to do. But I can almost see all of it form where I sit, but I never look at the thing anyways to eh....

I only have pics of the top guage pod but not the lower pod in the pocket. Ill have them tomorrow.

I will make these for anyone that wants them for $80. I will do an exact color match to the factory or primer them.

How about having the guages motorize up out of the middle of the dash, right above the stock radio location?

Maybe 5 2" gauges going across the farthest part of the dash with the stock gauge thing shaved out of existence and that whole section covered with red tweed to match the interior or painted to match the exterior?

i like the hidden clean look myself....

otherwise i was planing on doing three next to the factory 5" speedo...i just did the message center re-locate myself

i was also thinking of putting a screen next to the speedo and hiding my gauges down below...

I like the idea of replacing the speedo w/ the tach, and then adding green and red LEDs for "idiot" lights, but having the actual gauges themselves in the glove box. Green when its functioning properly, and red when something is wrong. And then have the air gauges where the OEM rectangular cluster used to be.

I like the passenger airbag/gauge cluster idea, but I use my car as a daily commuter and have passengers most of the time.

If strictly for show, then I would do the passenger airbag gauge cluster.

I noticed that most of the custon dash mods in here don't have aftermarket steering wheels. Is it illegal to remove the factory wheel with airbag in the U.S.?

it is illegal to modify a vehicle in such a way that the factory safety device(airbags) are bypassed/defeated/removed.

if you remember west coast customs got in trouble for this...they put a monitor in the steering wheel.

So if someone were to hypotheticaly remove the stock steering wheel to add an aftermarket and they didn't use a Splash adapter or Momo adapter...would there be a way to build a device that would simulate the air bag so that the SRS light would go out? Not that anyone would knowingly do something like that.....

yes, you can simulate an airbag being present...but if you get into an accident (god forbid) and you get hurt....the insurance company does not have to pay for your injuries...
