Default Passenger peanut gallery!!! talkin trash...

I would start by saying that it doesnt get to me, but i guess that would be a lie seeing as i am writing a whole topic about it...anyway. whenever i have people in my car it seems like they always make negative comments about my car. i think it is one partjealousy and the other part is they really dont know what to think about a big toaster on wheels!!!

I have heard every negative thing people can possibly say about the XB, "this thing has no trunk space", "yeah, and if you got rear ended there is nothing to protect you, YOU GONNA DIE!" "that speedometer is stupid!", "this thing is weird" i am sure you can think of more!!

I have to say that some of this talk is part of the reason i bought this car...it IS weird!! But after awhile (usually when i am having a %$*&@ up day)i get sick of hearing it, same friends, same comment over and over, geez people...ok...yes my car looks like a toaster, yes its weird....BUT I LIKE IT ANYWAY!!!!!

Here's a quotation you might find apt:

"What do *you* care what other people think?" --Arline Feynman

She was the first wife of Richard P Feynman, physicist and Nobel Prize winner . . . .

-Don (not caring what anyone thinks)

You can alway pull over and let them walk. That will have a tendency to quiet them up.

Passengers in my xB know they need to be a bit more civilized than that - or they can rapidly become pedestrians. I haven't had to do that yet in the xB - the last incident like that was in a Land Cruiser...

I don't bad-mouth things that belong to other people, they can do the same for my stuff, or at least do it OUTSIDE.

Maybe you should find more respectful friends to ride in the box? Anyone that talks down about someones property is just a ****.

No matter who you are, as long as the person works for what they have and does the best they can with what they have, they deserve respect. Period.

As a side note, most people love my box. I've had maybe three negative comments throughout the one and a half years ownership.

I had a few guys talk trash about the box but those very same guys rode in it on a trip and one guy says you never know till you ride in a car how it really is.....Lot's of leg room, head room and with four big dudes in it this thing goes good and dam that's all the gas you used on this whole trip !! So after all the bad reviews turn out good.

They are all jealous !! F * * K Em Let Em Walk !!!

He he he !!!!

Got lots of trash talk after buying my xB and most of the talkers wanted to ride in it. I took them for a ride and now I don't hear the trash any more. I converted most all who rode in it. I still get good natured jabs every now and then but that is OK by me. I just say that I laugh everytime I fill up!!

My wife and kids wanted to go to the movies Sunday and they said "let's take the box!" (instead of the Sienna) The four of us piled in and took off to the show. I only care what my family thinks, the rest can go pound sand or mortgage the house to pay their gas bill.

Good Rules for Good friends!
1. If asked for an opinion on a "possible" new car purchase, be honest and open with your opinion.
2. After purchase, good friends, that do not like the car you purchased; are still........................
a. Happy you are happy with your new car.
b. Happy for you that you got a new car.
c. Happy that they have a ride to a location
d. Look very hard for things that they "do like" about the car you purchased, and tell you.
aa. Very reasonable purchase price!
bb. Nice bright highbeams
cc. Nice color
dd. Stands out in a parking light
ee. Likes the style wheels
ff. Likes the ease of entry/exit
Or you can ponder this question:
Are these really "friends" that I value their opinions, or just long term acquaintances!
Congrats on you new car, and have fun with the BOX.

I got mine pretty recently, and all my friends bad mouth my car until they get in it.

They are all amazed at how much room there is inside!

I've found that even people who are iffy about the exterior like the car on the inside when they get in and see how comfortable and roomy it is.
