Does anybody have any pictures on how to install new speakers into the tc? I am thinking about buying myself another xmas present and want to make sure I know how to install the speakers before i buy them. Can anybody help?

if you click on the top right corner you'll see a link to a pdf file that shows how to install that speaker upgrade. i dont know if that helps a lot but it shows how to take off the stock speakers and put new ones in

Speakers, drill out the rivets w/ #8 bit, tweeter just remove from stock bracket. Stick new tweeter on bracket, make baffles from 3/4" MDF based on the stock speakers(or call me about some) and you're done.

Just curious... why baffles? I didn't use baffles, just chopped up my stock speakers and used their mounting "baffle" to install the ID chameleons... Faster and cheaper!

mandos - thats a nice post about the speakers. im going to actually think about doing that next year when it gets warmer - only thing im not sure about is the weight.... i know dynomat is very heavy but works well. Is the stuff you use lighter? .....or ...is there anything that is lighter? I really dont feel like adding 30lbs of matt to my car but for a quiter ride ....it prob would make sence after i get my supercharger.

There are a lot of options for sound deadoning....

I chose RAAMmat.... the best/cheapest option out there....

It adds weight, but when you realize how poorly the tC is deadoned in it's stock form, you'll understand...

where is the best spot to get this stuff from? I still have another month or so before i do it but that comes like tomorrow so im trying to start looking now. Also - how much would I need? .....what spots do you think should be done and which might not. There are many people that know a lot more then I do about this topic so I need help.

i sent him a PM asking for some answers. I think im in need of something like this product because its just not quiet enough. I am getting my supercharger next year so the extra weight shouldnt be an issue BUT I dont wanna use a product that is too heavy and not needed.

Ohh... It's needed.... my car is a whole different beast now that it's deadoned... and my bass response and sound quality from my fledgling setup is amazingly improved. I just run two 8" thunder 4400's and an Image Dynamics Chameleon Component setup in the front and my car is loud enough to tick off any passenger.... the sound deadoning just made that way better...

which areas should i worry about the most?

Doors, rear passenger panels and rear trunk area big time... and visible floor areas...

I went all out... and am super happy...
