i personally like the factory option as it is not too bright... but i wouldn't have the dealership install it... it's way too overpriced for the labor... it would be cheaper to buy it somewhere and install yourself... but compared to other things out there... the brightness level is fair.
btw, what part of san jose are you from?

im around saratoga. hrm is it just plug and strap it somewhere? or do you need to tap wires? i know that the guy at stevens creek dealership is pretty cool. but iono. well see how about yourself?
Ok so I bought the stuff from the dealership and had them put it in. DO NOT DO THIS. the cup holder LEDs weren't even blue. They are purple. If you just go purchase some LEDs off of one of the sites online and the cathodes. You will be much happier. You will pay less money also. Like 160 dollars less.
well at sparks its like 122 so i was wondering if i wanted to do this. ive also seen some cathodes but i dont know what kind i should get. i wanted blue so if you have any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated
Actually here is a site that should give you everything you need. I'm going with blue LEDs all around and ripping out the stock stuff. I don't know about the cathodes yet because I want a darker blue then I think they put out.

you can't go wrong with either.. Phil at Oznium has great products and will help you out. the cathodes does require some wiring, but he'll be able to help you figure things out.
Dave over at Stevens Creek is an awesome fellow... he'll help you out as well. (never heard about purple cupholder LEDs though...) I had them (factory illumination) on before and worked awesome, and wiring for that is easy as well.

well i didnt want something like ultra bright... and is it illegal to drive with them on? and does it come with an on or off swtich or did i have to buy something extra
I got the blue lights through the dealer and they are definitly blue. I love them myself but If you go else where other than te dealer, I highly recomment LEDs becasue of their long life span.
I have the same problem with the cup holders.....they're purple! It's not too big of a deal tho, it hasn't even bothered me enough to go replace it yet.
Are the cold-cathode kits on Ozinum brighter then the ones offered by scion? I'm thinking of getting a set of cold-cathodes and replacing my scion ones, then put the scion ones in the back seat

just finished putting my led lights in. They are great. I got picks on my camera phone (digital cam broke..) They dont illuinate ALOT but just enough to get your shoes lit up. Thats what I wanted. I saw the one the dealer installs... soo much money. I got my 4 leds all for 16 bucks. Really nice with switch and everything .. I'll post pics on install and all if I can. GL
ps. Tough part is finding a fuse to power em up. Just get a nice tester and poke around. =P Just make sure you know what your doing.
