Default Engine Cover bolt & nut missing??

I looked under the hood today and I noticed the drivers side nut and bolt (the two sided bolt that goes half way in the top of the engine and the other half through the engine cover) were missing. I've never taken that thing off - and I have no idea why it would have come off.

Do they remove this piece at all for normal "service"? I've only been to the dealer twice for the first 2 free oil changes

Just curious so I can have some ammo when I ask them to replace them under warranty.

I hate dealers.

You don't have to remove it for an oil change.... So they shouldn't have taken it off...

I couldn't the whole two pieces vibrating off.... I'd take a shot at warranty...

i changed my engine cover to the chrome injen one and the driver side bolt came off as well, but i know that it was because of engine vibration.

they cost around 1-2 dollars per nut/washer at the dealer.

I just ordered them by my self. I ordered the stud, the nut, and another clip. $0.8x cents a piece. I was surprised...when I had the Lexus it was anywhere from $2.50 - $7 for the same pieces.

It probably came off when they did my alarm tach wire and it wasn't tightened enough. Oh well.
