I just ordered my 2005 xB yesterday. I ordered it with a 5-Speed, but I have only test driven an auto xB. Should I be concerded with anything, having ordered a 5-Speed, or do all you, who have 5-Speeds, are pretty happy? I have had 5-Speeds in the past, but you know how it is, your really only know if you like something until you test drive it. In this case I did not have the luxury, so that is why I am asking all of you.
Thanks in advance!

You'll enjoy the 5 speed much more. Better acceleration. Sometimes it's a pain to shift into reverse. All you have to do though is go to 2nd then to reverse and it'll go right in.

Also make sure you install a short shifter! and if you can also a TRD clutch. The stock clutch was too soft for my taste

I believe 2005's will be available towards the end of next month, early June. My dealer said that his first shippment will arrive mid June and they will all be 2005's. xB's that is.

I would only say (almost 5k miles in) if you push your scion kinda hard like i do, you'll deff notice the shifting get not quite as tight as it once was but still smoother than my 94' ranger :)
go with the 5-spd. i wasn't sure in the begining but i defintely like it alot.

It seems alot of ppl are getting the 5-speed. I ordered my '04 Xb yesterday I have to wait 3wks because they ship a limited amount of Manuals. Did most of you come across this when buying?

I also waited three weeks when i bought mine in mid august of last year. The dealer called me as soon as it arrived to show me the odometer was reading 0 miles.
5 speed is the only way to go IMO, especially on a sporty nimble little car with a tiny engine. I can't imagine why you'd choose an automatic. If I was missing a foot, I would find a way to rig the clutch up so i could activate it with my hand.
The 5 speed will get you nearly 2 seconds faster to 60 mph, get you better fuel economy and get you respect from driving enthusiasts who might otherwise thumb their noses at the xB.
You made the right choice.
