Default 06 tc radio - wrong mp3 titles?

my o6 HU repeatedly displays the wrong titles for my songs on mp3. it is usually just 1 song off, but it drives me crazy. anyone else have this prob? or is it just my radio.

it is a very early 06 hu, because my 06, actually came with an 05 hu in it, which was replaced 3 days after my car was delivered.

Didnt know tc's were also 04? As for me, I got the car and the radio was defective. I had to take it back the day after because it didnt grab local stations. Also When ever I play an mp3 cd in my car the songs usually jump, so I stick to Wav. woot.

Your ID tags on the MP3/AAC files are bad.
There are scripts which can fix this, and even iTunes has some basic tag updating.
I doubt it's your player - it's almost always the songs that are honked - esp if you download p2p.

I had the 05 HU and upgraded to the 06. I have the same problem, but,it only happens if I skip to the next track after letting the previous track play for maybe 1-3 seconds(then it shows the previous track name, not the one I'm listening to).I highly doubt this is a problem with bad recordings/tags as I never encountered this problem on my 05 unit playing the exact same discs.

Well if your headunit is reading the file correctly but improperly displaying the tag, I would say it has something to do with the tag. Who knows your Headunit may be an isolated incident, but bring it back to the dealer and see what they say. Another thing I would try is put that disc into another MP3 player (friend or family members) and see if the tags work properly and move on from there.

Only one sure way to test. I don't know how your rip your MP3s - do you use iTunes?
Whatever you use. Rip a good CD and use a current app on your PC/Mac.
Check to see what version of the tags it's creating - in iTunes, it's under the advanced menu - you can even convert old songs' tags there.
Create a new CD.
If you still have issues, it may be the HU, but I am so willing to bet it's your songs...
Please post more info on your methods for creating MP3 CDs.

I use Nero and always will. No problems on my 05(or any other mp3 player I've encountered),now problems on the 06...? Did Scion sign a deal with the devil (apple) on the new HU,Ipod or not?

It's because the headunit isn't reading the title of the song as you have it named on your computer... it's reading the ID3 tag embedded in the song.

Since I dumped a bunch of songs on my daughters' iPod, I've noticed that a lot of the ID3 tags are jacked up and it's annoying the crap outta me.

Zzzzz. God, heaven forbid there's a problem with anything.
I think - and don't take this as a flame - but some of you guys need to get out into the real world and out of your parent's house.

It's a problem - look at the suggestions and try to fix it.
If they don't work - take the freakin' thing into Toyota and get the HU looked at.

Now what ____es me off is that you quote me when replying....why? I,for one, have been on my own since age 14 when my mom died(my dad was not allowed to take custody(money wise) even though he wanted to. I ended up living with my grandma. I and my brother basically raised ourselves from there on out. Just because I prefer a specific program to another for burning my mp3's does not and should not mean I am a "momma's boy". I was and am now still saying that if the discs I burn with nero work and worked on 100% of all the equipment I have ever thrown at them at since 2001...why should that change now? I don't believe that scion would have changed the firmware in the players, they just upgraded the interface and screen visabilaty...correct? It is absolutely 100% a problem on scion/pioneers end since, like I stated before,it only happens if you switch tracks too quickly,if you let it play for 5+ seconds it is fine. Do you blame this on bad "tags",or faulty workmanship?

Also,I cannot, that I know of,take my HU in for repair as I sold my original 05 HU on ebay and upgraded to an 06 model via ebay as well.
