So heres my final (for now) breakdown of my mods w/ my cost:

1)Injen Air Intake - $240 shipped (on backorder)
2)DC ex header - $270+shipping
3)DC exhaust - $380+shipping
4)Eibach Pro kit - $240

Plus I have a DC strut bar and B&M shifter already...getting all this installed for free too!

DC header for $270?! Is that the same 4-1 ceramic header they've always had or a newer model? That price seems high to me. You could get the Alphawerks 4-1 stainless header for $275 and the Megan stainless 4-1 header for sub $200 prices.

 

Yup its the same one...4-2-1 ceramic coated stainless. MSRP is around 400 bud. Do some research.

Rofl...I wouldn't touch anything made by alphawerks or Megan with a ten foot pole! :D Thats probably why YOU can get them so cheap! Kinda of like why our tc is so cheap....

Alphawerks is a two-bit chintzy (probably chinese or korean manufacturing) company that no one besides tc owners have ever heard of...

DC is so-so??? I guess then AEM is so-so as well rite? Cuz AEM bought up DC sports, and I seriously Doubt AEM would partner up with a 'So-So' company!

 

are you familiar with GSC motorsports on this forum ? they did a header dyno on megan vs alphawerks vs dc . alphawerks may have been made by "two-bit chintz..." as you say but it still outperforms DC.

Well if you did your research you'd realize that the header is not a 4-2-1 header but a 4-1 header. The MSRP on the Alphawerks is $599 but do people pay MSRP....NOPE! Just because that something is cheaper doesn't mean that it's worse, you're paying for a brand name. Besides the Alphawerks outperforms the DC on all accounts. Go ahead and pay for a brand name, I'll pay for performance.

 

Well Genius...I ACTually DID some research, and every site I found says its a 4-2-1 (inlcuding Clubsciontc: http://www.clubsciontc.com/modules.p...ame=CCart&id=4)

But the bottom line is...Alphawerks & Megan Racing = cheap chinese crap. Sorry to break it to ya, its obvious u don't really know what yur talkin about, but yeah, both those companies suck! Kindof like ZPI....a know name chintzy company that has a great idea to put out 2nd rate products to capitalize on the influx of dumb scion tc owners who will throw any ill conceived part onto their car so they can call it a "mod" and post about it on their websites. NO ONE in the sport compact tuning world has any respect for Alphawerks and Megan Racing. THEy're kind of like JEnsen, dual, or Visonik in the car audio realm...

BTW the alphawerks header, intake, exhaust and throttle body on showed +24HP!!
The DC header alone shows +10HP

Yeah, I'll pay for the brand name (aka quality), thats why I bought a scion (toyota) as opposed to a KIA (alphawerks). Have fun paying for your "Performance" LED's and cathodes! RICER!

 

That's sad, just sad. Why is when people have a losing argument they take a personal shot at the gauges? Is it because they don't have the skill to do it themselves? Why is it rice? Let's see now....does it give performance, hmmm don't think so. Any performance claimed....hmmmm...no. Let's look it up in my handy ricer dictionary. Let's see now, nope don't see how changing the stock color of the gauge backlighting is rice, nope, don't see it.

Listen here junior, if you'd have done your research on a site other than a forum like say the manufactuers website..www.dcsports.com, you'd see that they call it a 4-1 header and their OWN dyno chart only shows 7.5HP.

Independent dynos have only shown 6HP. Independent dynos of the Alphawerks (check it, a Japanese company) show 11HP. Maybe you should check the articles from SuperStreet about the headers they make for the IS300 and 350Z. Be gone wit ya now

 

I stand corrected, its a 4-1! Just got it into the shop today and I looked it over...But its still WAAy nicer than any alphawerks POS. Dood...are u really comparing an AEM product to alphawerks??? LED's =UNCLE BENS!

Listen son...check out www.fuzionauto.com ....where I WORK! We've been tuning/modding sport compacts for the last 6+ years...and NEVER heard (anything good) about alphawerks until the tc came around (same with ZPI) I'd rather put my trust in a reputable company like AEM/DC than some 2nd rate jap company that no one (besides tc owners) have ever heard of
