Update for 05 Scions. New audio head units are coming for the 05 models. 04 audio head units may not be used on 05s.

For 05 Scion xA and xBs get a new AM/FM/6 disc Player and AM/FM/cd player will be available with enhanced features.

New features of the 05 Scion audio units include

Features/Functions Benefits
-MP3 Sound Re-touch(SRT feature -Enhances lost sound from MP3 burning process
-Personilized message on display -Allows for unique 12-character message
-Hidden personiled messages in unit -Creates customer excitment for Scion audio

That was from April5th to all Scion stores from their corp HQs. I just heard of it from my friend today.
He also said tC Scion accessory guides should come out to wave 3 dealers on May 21st.

ROAR...why must they put new things on an already great car...

 

They need to get a deck that the volume button spins instead of having to push a button 30times to lower the volume.

More like 40 times I usually run it in the 50s

You'd think after you pushed it a dozen times it might increase the speed that it adjusts - like every clock radio since the 80's...

OR make it so you could turn the volume down when it's muted. That would've solved the problem.

The message option is dope, tho.

 

I have no patience, I had the money in my account for about a day, the next day I was buying my new xB... :twisted:

 

What I was telling the reps at the exposed meet is that they need to add pre-amp outs on the back of the deck. Really, how hard is it to add those? I really like the 6-disc deck and it sucks having to use line-level converters to add aftermarket stuff to it.

Ok, I've read the manual and have changed, and understand how to edit, my "Start-up Welcome Message."

What's the deal with the mysterious "Hidden Personalized Messages" that "Create Customer Excitement." :?:

Is this another Scion marketing hype feature or a somewhat useful feature allowing owners to store "text strings" in memory. :?:

So, can the 05 headunits work in the 04's and if so, how much will that set people back? I'm guessing there is no special deal for trading in your 04 headunit...

I'm sure it is crazy expensive. This will help me finally decide on getting the XM Commander or whatever...I'm sure it will be cheaper than the dealer upgrade.
