Ok tomorrow im about to get a 06 scion xb..got the downpayment and all but the only thing is i noticed it doesnt have steering wheel controles like when you build it online..is this just n optionw hen you get the ipod connection or is this just a 05 being claimed its an 06..i just got delivered dismorning and i watche dit come off the truck...what do you guys think?

 

Just bought an 06 xB m'self and it nor the other one on the lot of the dealer I bought it at has the controls.
I'd reallyreallyreallyreally like to get them, though!

 

My 06 xA has them and I believe the tC has them too....but I looked in the 06 catalogue that they gave me at the dealership and it looks like the xB does not come with them for some odd reason. I also looked at the accessory listing and did not see it there either

 

Just picked up my black '06 xB today!! What a blast!!

To answer your question - no! However, the models without the steering wheel controls are $15,220 vs. $15,370 on the models with 'em. For $150 I can reach over ;-)

 

The one with the controls is the "2006.5". Scions allocated to the dealership after December 14th (for the most part, there were a few stragglers), are 2006.5 models with the steering wheel controls, advanced airbags, and new interior fabric (see the 2006 xA). Price on these is $150 more than the regular 2006 models ($14,540 manual and $15,370 automatic). The price is the easiest way to tell if you're getting the '06 or '06.5.

The radio controls have nothing to do with which radio option you choose.

Interesting....salesman I worked with didn't mention 2006 vs. 2006.5. So the $150 was more than just the steering wheel!

 

the xb price i believe us 15340..no steering wheel controle,no ipod connection..but auto

 

My '06 auto was $15,220 and had AUX connection for iPod (I'll use it for my Palm Zire that has an MP3 player and works great!!)

 

the AUX connector is a totally different thing than an iPod connector.
the iPod one says iPod on the cover, and uses a special cable that the dealer has to give you to connect to the iPod's Dock connection.
the AUX is just mini plug to mini plug. (which can also work for the iPod but will lose quality)

with the iPod upgrade you get BOTH AUX and iPod jacks.

Yea the Ipod connector is right above the Aux on the center console of the xA and you definately need the "Ipod Customer Cable" that connects to the port....my dealer almost forgot to give it to me.....

Most likely, yes - but as Alex mentioned- how much did you pay for your xB? If you paid the "newer price", your xB will come with the newer features. This price is $150 higher than the old price.

If that is the price that you paid for the base model xB, then yes, you will have the newer features. congratulations - enjoy a cookie. haha

 

as far as i know at least any tc labelled as 06 comes with steering controls, i got mine in mid sept and it came with them.

 

All '06 xA and tC do have steering wheel controls, it is only the xB that is different.

Please remember, the prices I quoted for the 2006.5 models are BASE prices without ANY accessories or fees. Just want to be clear on that.
