ok well last night i took a crack at it i got everything off and whatnot , put the car in gear but the funny thing is ...when i went to remove it ...the motor still cranks with it ...so i dont know what im doing wrong...i called my friend nick up and he says i need to get a crank pulley puller to remove the crank pulley from the car ...is this true?

put it in gear and it still moves? You have an automatic, don't you? Yeah, that won't work. :)
There are a few different types of pulley pullers.. If he's speaking of a puller that will hold the pulley and keep it from spinning, then yes.. that would help.

no i have a 5 speed, no matter what gear i put it in it still rotates ....unless im missing something? like a way to lock the motor because all i do is rotate the block not the bolt ...

I had the same problem. Some people are saying that putting it in gear locks it and allows you to move it but that is not the case. I ended up taking it to a mechanic since you need impact tools. It cost me $80 but I know it's done right. You cannot do it with normal hand tools.

yeas, you need to have an impact wrench to remove that bolt. there is no other way really unless you get a strap wrench and have a friend hold the pulley while you remove the bolt. The best way is an impact wrench, air or electric
