ive seen a few maybe 2 on clubsciontc
im just looking to find a few more pics and here about them
rubbing?, which springs to run with them

from some info ive gathered I think
it will be just fine to get 20x7.5 with trd springs or any other springs
with a slight drop and would look perfect.

POST PICS IF U GOT THEM!!

Not too many guys run 20's.... the weight of them and the neccesary low profile tires that have to go along with them make them not the best for daily driving...
You can run 20X7.5 with TRD's no problem, but it all depends on offset.

Just be aware that you'll have to run like 30 or 25 tires, while will be THIN... and the rims will hamper performance a bit.... I personally think 19's are the best mix for the tC.

I actually know how the ride will be and all i use 2 have 19 inch rims
but the 20's would just look fresshhhhh....I just went to the local wheel shop
and got a quote on the motegi dp12's with tires...1900 black but i want chrome....
i have had all kinds of wheels, on my past car, silver, gunmetal, black....i need to have chrome! :nails:

it may look good but your suspension wont last. the weight alone will kill it. any real mechanic will tell u that. pimpin aint easy, especially if u have to replace all 4 corners. do what u want though bruh.

 That cracked me up!

anyhow, get what you want. 20's do look hot. If your suspension starts to crap out on you, trade it in for another tC and slap the 20's on that.

20's on any compact looks retarded IMO. If you want to rock it, go for it. But if you ask me, its pointless. Its not logical, practical, no performance side to it, and it doesn't even look good. All you get is bragging rights for having 20's and claiming you are "pimpin" it.

19's are pushing it.

Real men rock 15-16's. Can anyone say ats cups or work equip 01,02 or 03's. Too bad you tCers don't have 4x100.

Biggest size i'd go with is 18's. Have fun though.

I actually the size of the tC wheels. 17s is a nice starting point. The most I'll go is 18s, though 19s look good the price for upkeep and what it may do to my speedo doesn't sit well with me.

Personally chrome on the tC looks like @SS to me, especially with such a big rim. Go get a Big body Benz or a LS/GS 430 then put 20s on it. When it all boils down to it though it is your ride; but please DO NOT make a thread just for pics of your car, cause it's going to look ridiculous, thanks.

Anyway check through the Flint Mica Cult thread, some guy put 20s on his.

I have a set of 15x7 5x100 Rota Slipstreams in gunmetal with polished lip that I'm contemplating putting on for SCCA. They are brand new in a box and are custom order at this point. We put together a group buy and had Rota custom produce these wheels for another forum I'm a member of. They weigh 12.5 lbs a corner and they really want some Azenis on them :D

Regards,

B

Edit: My everyday wheels are still going to be 19"s :P

im going no higher than 18's. scion's upgrade is that size so I will be good with 18s and keep the brakes stock for now.

but I thought that the tC had a thing on it to adjust the speedo for bigger wheels. and thats why they offer 18s as an upgrade....

I don't understand why most people say that 20's won't fit or that their are too many issues. I have 20's on my tC & it is lowered on tein s-techs, it is also my daily driver, IMO it drives better than the stocks. the only rubbing issue I encountered was the plastic wheel well covers, since I have removed them i have no rubbing issues

There aren't real issues other than possible rim bending due to potholes and bumps, louder while on the freeway, and rougher to ride on than stock... without addressing the added rotational mass and performance loss as a result.

With the right offset, they'll fit, no one should say that 20's won't.

But, it'd not be responsible to address the issues and needs to consider when running larger rims.

I run 19's and notice a loss in performance as a result, as well as them being louder and rougher to ride than my big stockies... it's just the realities of running larger rims

BTW - Open 20's without a BBK look really wierd... the rotors look WAY WAY too small.

Gotta pick and choose.... that's my motto.

i'm from far west (cali) i put 20's on all my cars, 24"s on my truck, but on my tc i put 18x8 35 offset. I felt that 20x7.5 was to narrow. i love the look of 20's. i will be turboing my car very soon so 18 are good. Plus i have a 2.5" lip. 16 and lower look stupid as f@ck. . the cars came with 17 or 18 why go lower? 19 are way over priced..

good luck on you quest FL(TATTOO)

You have to get a smaller tire with a bigger wheel and vice versa. The difference between one size to the other is often times so small your speedo isn't off more than .1 or .2 mph. Your goal is to keep the same outer diameter for the larger wheel and tire as the stock one.

Here's a good calculator to help you out on speedo corrections if you have questions about how much it'll be off with tire/wheel combos...

Very true... yeah BBK is way needed to fill in the holes, but it all comes down to choices. To me 20's are way to big for the car and the design, just doesn't fit the flow of the car i.e. Not proportional or balanced to the exterior(Needs a bodykit). Anways... To each their own and Kudos if you can get 20's w/any huge issues to the comfort of your vehicle!

i did the tire calc thing and I compared the stock 17's with the upgradable 18's

the 18s were about 1.88% bigger and the speedo was expected to be off by like 2%

what I am getting are the same specs as the upgradable 18s and they weigh 21.2 lbs (dont know what the upgrade 18s weigh)

Those are nice rims; but because of they're size, look why out of place on the tC. All I could focus on was the rims, it takes away (actually robs) from the car IMO.

No one said they won't fit, and you said that you had to take out the wheel well plastic housing. Point proven: 20s on a lowered tC rub. I think that's what everyone meant.

Back to the main point to each his own. I just hope that those with 20s and blah blah, don't think you guys are pimpin. Cause if you were you won't have a tC.

^^The above is entirely the opinion of a female, please forgive me if it makes sense. :silly:

No I am not going off-road, I have had 20's on my car for almost a year now, and I have no front end, ball joint or any other issues, I know this because I work at auto repair facility and have my car checked on a regular basis by A.S.E. master mechanics. Also the saving money issue, you have it all wrong, because i went to put 19's on my car and they were practically twice as much.

So too all of you that seem to have an issue with people puttting 20's on their tC, It is up to that person to decide what they want to do , if you don't like it don't be rude about it.

But i have seen a few tCs run 16's and they look great. 17's looks good on the tC, 18's also look fairly good depending on what rim it is. 19's is pushing it, but the tC can pull it off. 20's look like arse on any compact, which is my opinion just like its your opinion 16's and lower is stupid.

Don't be close minded opinions just because someone doesn't agree with you.
