so i installed the is2100 on my xb a few weeks ago and have been loving it except that about a week ago i started getting a rattle from the engine bay while i was out driving. i figure its coming from the intake, seeing as thats the only thing thats been changed. i took it to the dealer and they freaked out when they saw the intake and made a big fuss about warranty issues and such, which i kinda expected. anyway, the rattle only happens when i'm in drive and holding the brake, like at a red light or stop sign. any ideas as to solving this? i dont think its a major issue, just some new vibration from the intake maybe? any ideas? anyone?

Did you think to check all the bolts and clamps on the intake before or after you took it to the dealership? Make sure everything is nice and tight. Attempt to move the SRI yourself by hand. See if there is any play. If there is any at all it should be minimal.

If everything is snug there, it is probably something else. Have someone else start the car and hold the brake while you take a listen under the hood. Maybe you can trace it yourself.

checked and rechecked all the bolts and such, no problems there. the rattle is definately coming from the intake cuz when the car's in drive and my buddy has his foot on the brake i can change the tone of the rattle by moving the intake a bit with my hand. it hardly moves, feels pretty solid to me, so i have no idea. i tried remounting the intake sorta- loosened the rubber mount that came with the kit, moved it about 1/8 of an inch and retightened it. took care of the problem for maybe 3 hours, the sound came back later that day. again, i dont think its causing any harm, but its bugging me.
