Yeah Sears sells a pretty good electric impact gun. I used one to do my crank pulley, but it won't work on the others. There is just no space to work.

there is a good electric alternative. I got one because im renting right now and my garage does not have enough power to run an air compresser. So I went to home depot and picked up one made by Rigid. Im sure its not the best one out there but it has a hell of alot of torque. It also has a 2 speed torque setting so that way you donr have always have it on the ***** to the wall setting. also, its not overly cheap but it had the most features but it ran me $191 after tax.

should i get one that cost around $200 or are there ones that are less that will perform the exact same way? ... thanks for the feedback .... im just trying to get a feel of what I should get so I only get it once. Im thinking about getting it to take my tires off with also but since I cant torque it i dont think im gonna be able to use it to put them back on.

I guess it comes down to what you want to spend. The one that wedrivescions just posted will probably work great for alot of stuff but I see that its only got 240ftlbs of torque. So you may be sitting there for alot longer trying to get the bolts off. The one that I have is 450ftlbs of torque and spins most bolt off real quick. However it took it awhile to get the crank pulley off. maybe wedrivescions will know real soon if his will take off pulleys

I think either way youll be good. In all honesty, I only got the impact gun so I can get the pulley off. I had plans to go to a friends house who has an air compresser in this garage but the plans fell through so i said screw it and just went out and got the one I have now and did zero research, haha

^ That's my lazy backup tool... I use air tools primarily.... but it was a good cheap tool if I was lazy and just wanted to plug something in quick and take off wheels or such.

ive decided that Im going to wait till this summer and get a tank and torque gun. That way I can start building up equipment for the future. What size tank do you think I should get and what brands are good for the prices they are offered at. I hear that the attachments are normally less then $100 each ....is this true or do better attachments cost more then that? Any feedback would help.

I bought mine at harbor freight and it was a small little two tank setup... the components for it are cheap like you said.

I'm glad you went that direction, cause dang, those pulleys are on tight and you need some good torque!
