are there any free mods you can do on a tC?

my cousin's got an integra gsr and there are certain things you can do (such as taking out the power steering) to gain some hp without buying anything new.

anything...?

 

Sorry... there are a few aesthetic mods that are cheap to do and are DIY, but most of the N/A performance mods require some significant parts and resulting money that goes along with them....

only thing i can think of that u might be interested in doing is unbolting ur exhaust. gives it a nice deep tone and a few hp.

 

un bolt ur exhaust, run ur car with no air filter, or open air box with filter taped to the top portion of the box,

lighten up the trunk load

thats all i can tink of

 

No air filter.....ouch..... but other ideas sound great!

 

remove all interior parts except driver's seat (passanger seat, rear seats, headliner, carpet, speakers, radio

remove washer fluid holder, A/C unit, spare tire, tools

hell remove your power steering and see what it does :D

Just unbolt your muffler, and take it off. Its really simple 2 bolts and a couple hangers. GSC dyno'd with a 5hpor something gain over stock.

 

take out your sunroof motor so your car is less top heavy.....handles better without the weight on top....

 

Wow..... Drastic moves for small results.... unbolting the muffler is the only real one of the ones posted that you may feel gains from... they others take away more than give IMHO

 

huh no power steering just to gain more hp your kiddin right...

 

Hack the airbox.

This definitley works, and I've got timeslips to prove it.

 

Does unbolting the muffler have any negative side effects on the car?

 

Lose some weight. If you're really heavy, you could make the car like 100lb+ lighter when you drive it if you go on a diet. Plus your heart will make more hp :o

 

only negative side effect ive heard of is that it makes the under carage a nittle hotter than normal. ive had mine off for about a month or so now and ive found nothing wrong.

 

haha I like that.. but you should probably either tell him how to do it or show him links on how to do it.. I think that would be a correct response..

 

Anybody else had their under carriage hotter? I don't want this "free" mod to be detremental in any way to my car. Also, does it really give out a better noise?

 

your gona injoy puttin that stuff back on if u have to have the dealer look at somethin.

 

It does get a little hot, I had mine off for a week.
Its not hot, like its going to boil your gas hot...
