I wouldn't pay that much for something that looks as jimmy rigged as that thing.

Looks kinda cheesy, but it is nice to see that we are progressing toward a good armrest!

aww, come on guys it is not that bad. Try to make some that looks even half that good. It looks like he wrapped the box with kydex. That itself is hard. My only question is, with any arm rest, how easy is it to operate the e-brake???

I bought and experimented with the armrest from JC Whitney that was posted here a few months back and can tell you from the looks of this thing that the e brake will be a _____. For the e brake to be assessable you need to either have an arm rest that flips up or that is short. Otherwise you literally have to use you left hand to pull up the brake while twisted around. I was willing to take one for the team and experiment with a $40 JC armrest, but I'll let someone else foot the bill on this one.

Still think an armrest that is attached to the drivers seat would work best.

lol... yeah, I like that Mini Cooper cupholder armrest...

I find myself wanting to put my hand on the passenger chair when not shifting, though...even when a person is in the seat. I restrain myself from touching my passenger's thigh (either male or female.. ) and just hold on to the steering wheel with two hands (like you're supposed to!)

i did hack up an arm rest from Toyota Matrix

but its going to be more expensive if you can't find it on junkyard/dismanttler.

its also fit tight, so my seats are fix for "only me" driver.
the good thing is i got extra storage, and cup holders.

I think the armrest on ebay is just the armrest from toyota japan. the ist (i'm getting an xA when they come here in June) armrest is at http://www.toyota.co.jp/Showroom/All...nu/safety.html. click on the last bar on the left side (10 down). the armrest is under "function" for about US$95. (somebody posted this link before, somewhere, i think.)

Does anybody know if the dealer can order toyota parts from toyota japan?
