What do you think?
Any one know how hot a supercharger will get when operating, by friction and being attached to the engine?
I painted my Blitz kit but I didn't use high heat engine paint, I used "heat resistant" wheel paint.

It looks pretty good IMO, but I wonder if it will start to flake off from heat.

Does anyone know the part number for the US blitz kit Replacement Belt, or the length of it? Im not sure i got the right one

Hey Xbilly, as per our previous correspondence you know I powder coated the intake
manifold and both loose pipe fittings. I left the SC raw because I knew it would generate
some heat. How much I don't know yet, as the install is only half finished (see other post).
Do you still need a copy of the instructions? They suck by the way.

No, I got an english version, but thank you.
If the paint starts to flake I will just wire brush it back to the metal, no big deal. I just wanted to do something with it to make it different from others.
Do you still have the package the belt came in? Or do you know if the part # is on the belt? Im not sure if the one I got only fits a 2nz, or what.

I'll look tonight when I get home. I think the wrapper is still on the garage floor.

Looks good. My instr, are in jap. Can you explain how the low-med-high sttings work?

low, mid, high equal throttle possition. I think they correspond to 75% throttle, 50% throttle, and 25% throttle.

or in english: when the switch is set to low, the Blitz clutch engages at 75% of your throttle travel.

Thanks Baine, that helps. Unfortunately I have 4pk-1710, although the japanese kit comes with an additional pulley, maybe I can make use of it.
hip-2b-sqr did you get any of the stuff i sent you? do you want the rest?

I just finished wiring the ECU and it was very easy. I still haven't solved the AC line problem
but that will resolve soon. Should button up the top tonight and I might get to at least start it.

Had a chance to drive around a little tonight. The low-med-high settings correspondes to pedal effort:

low - the sc will kick in at low pedal effort (lots)
med - the sc will kick in with moderate effort (take offs and acceling)
high - the sc will kick in only when you stomp it.

hmmm what do you think, leave it on low!

It make a very distinct whir sound when it kicks in, definately a good boost of power on demand. Very interested to see how gas milage changes with different setings.

So guys, after a some driving time, how hot does the unit get?
(please don't burn yourself)
I just want an idea

I don't think mine is getting very hot at all. It doesn't run constantly. Even cruising
to work at 80 MPH this morning it only kicked in when I passed. I had it set at MED.
I'll check when I get home tonight.

Same here, does appear to get any hotter that the rest of the engine.

First tank full of gas today: 26.8 mpg (lots of sc use and lots of intown without sc use)

I go in today to have 2nd dyno run at Titan. I will post the numbers when I get them.

After a spirited 35 mile run the SC is only warm. I've had cups of coffee at Starbucks
that were hotter.

Great! Looks like my paintjob has a shot at survival :)
I have my Fuel managementelectronics, my fuel rail, and my S/C kit,
All I need now is these Damned injectors (and maybe a new belt)and I'll start my install.

Well the numbers are in and they are 29. The base line run was 84 hp and after the Blitz SC install it was 113 hp. Very happy, feels like more behind the wheel. I know that it would have been much better if I had had a manual trans and not an automatic, and there are a few other minor things that could have made the numbers better, but it wasn't so much the big hp's I was looking for as just that little bit of get up and go all XB's need. (and it look very cool under the hood!)

Also had a fill-up today to check how the mileage was affected and was down slightly to 26.9 mpg. So seems like the drive-ability hasn't been hurt very much.

The Titan crew did a great job and am very greatful for thier prof. service, attitude, and outstanding install.

Did you upgrade your clutch and if so what clutch did you choose? I'm getting a little
slippage in 4th and 5th gear when I stand on it. I'm going to try to adjust the clutch
tonight and see if that helps any. I'm thinking about the SPEC stage 2 upgrade. I
found it for $275 at jscspeed.com

I have the TRD clutch and have heard it holds up well under boost.
jscspeed is great, they really beat any price you can find, and they aim to please. they ship fast too.
