I wonder if it's going to be 20k miles max for the tires. Low profile tires are expensiveeeeeeeeeeee!

these tires should last longer than 20k...if you drive "properly." I go through tires FAST, lucky for me, my dads work replaces them.

Tire profile doesnt really have anything to do with treadwear

I had those RE92's as factory tire on my former Camry in 15" form. Wore out faster than what I thought. Didn't pass the penny test @ 21K (with proper rotation/inflation/care). The 15" flavor had a treadwear rating of ~120, not sure about the 17's.

Although it's true that the profile isn't the deciding factor on the tread wear... It's safe to say that most low profile tyres will end up having lower life expectancy than their higher profile siblings...

Low profile tyres were generally made for performance and not ride comfort... Reason being is because soft rubber would be needed for better grip and having a TALL side wall would me you have to make the side wall harder... So it's safe to say on the flip side that the grip factor would also be less on a high profile tyre...

Dragster slicks however are pretty damn tall and they grip like krazy glue on a dumb kid's forehead...

Yeah, he did :!: You can get 35 series tires in Ultra high performance, high performance, grand touring etc... Also different tread wear ratings A, AA ... etc

I agree that most low pro's are sticky performance tires but if you do your homework you'll see what I mean

What are the road holding value of tyres that big? If I can guess, they're probably slicks :D

they look cool, but you have to have a big wheel well bulge to support such rim / tyre setup...

I certianly would NOT sport that on my tC hahahahaha 8)
