View Full Version : Everyone with Stylis' axle-back post your pics/reviews here
wyldkard 04-26-2004, 06:23 PM Ok, I uploaded my pics to ImageStation, I took several pics of the underside of the car/exhaust but they didn't turn out good. Stylis once again, you are the man, I love this exhaust...and I'm reppin the precisionmuffler.com sticker. Randode, the sticker promoting your biz is a perfect match to my TCM, so I slapped it on too as well as the scion brakelight.

I haven't taken pics of the brakelight yet, it shows up better at night...so maybe tonight.

EVILDAVE 04-26-2004, 08:04 PM Who's Stylis????
TheRedBox 04-26-2004, 08:20 PM Seriously.. who's this mysterious stylis guy... or gabe.. who is this guy. He's like the NorCaL exhaust God right? 8)
Gwardo 04-26-2004, 08:27 PM ok, not off the topic but I am having trouble installing this exhaust.... I cant get the nut lose. And no i dont have this problem in bed too. HELP! The 11mm doesnt fit and either does the 12 or the 1/2 and the one below the 1/2.
squirrel 04-26-2004, 08:28 PM Stylis!?!
Gabe!?!
Precision Muffler!?!
Axle-back!?!
Mang, what are you guys trippin' about? I saw these two guys, one is named Steve, and the Orlando, bending and welding next door at Auto Innovations. They had these Magna.................something mufflers all over the place!
Just kidding.
Gabe's a good dude, and of course he got the scion Central idea from me!

The nut is welded to the clamp as far as I could tell and it would not come loose. The bolt is what you need to be loosening. However I couldn't get it loose either so I did some Southern Engineering and took an angle grinder to the bolt head and the nut and then used my own bolt and nut with the factory clasp. We wound up rounding the bolt off trying to get it loose, so we only had one option then. Oh and it took us about 1.5-2 hours to get the old exhaust off....and 10 minutes to bolt the new one on.

yeah, pay randy 3 bucks for it  I am happy that everyone was satisfied with their mufflers and that no one had too much trouble with the installs! :D Keep a look out for a new muffler for the automatic scions. And it still has the same ground clearance as the original axle back!
I have always kept ground clearance as one of my top priorities, just because we love to lower our rides! :D
Gwardo 04-26-2004, 09:26 PM woot! Good news , I got it off and thanks for the info on the nut. My god those rubber hangers, they took more energy, to get the muffler off those things, out of me than my girl does in bed! Bad news, my digi cams battery went dead when by time I finished.
Sounds awesome, now to charge the battery. Thanks a bunch stylis!

Al-Truistic 05-12-2004, 06:42 PM ScionMikey, when you do get a digital camera could you please try and record sound of your exhaust on the freeway and also the little "burble?" Did you do the install yourself?
I really want this exhaust but don't want to get anything that would just get louder than stock...

wyldkard 05-13-2004, 12:48 PM Almost any aftermarket exhausts that increase performance/hp are going to be louder than stock. It's something you're going to have to deal with when going with a performance enhancing exhaust.

Hot_Lava_xb 05-13-2004, 01:35 PM I installed the axle back a few weeks ago and love the fit and finish of the exhaust.
It's tucked up high enough to drop the car a couple of inches without the worrys of dragging it. The sound of the magnaflow is deep and sweet. I couldn't have asked for a better looking or sounding exhaust. I have a couple of pictures posted under my profile but they are not that clear .
Carlanga 05-13-2004, 01:55 PM I don't know about you guys but installing the muffler was really easy. took about 15 min. to take the stock out and about 7 to put the magna. By the way hand soap works on the rubber to take the muffler out. Thanks stylis :D !!!

This system IS a bit louder than stock, I am not gonna lie to you, but it is quiet at 65MPH and above. And even before that the system still has a low tone before 65. Very nice and melow.
Krmit 05-23-2004, 06:01 AM I picked up the axel back for the auto today and installed it in about 15 min total. Special "L" shaped tool popped off the hangers in nothing flat. Wow what a fit! I love the sound too. Gabe you did great work with this setup.
It was good to meet you this weekend and look forward to the nextime your in the hood.
Glad you like it!! I just hope you spread the word about my work  It was cool to have met you and your wife. rolex87 06-07-2004, 04:55 AM Hey all,
I just got my axle back installed at Precision Muffler on Saturday. On the 2+ hour drive home i noticed:
1. Better throttle response (auto)
2. Lower crusing rpm's (150-300), depending on the gear
3. Awesome sound, especially at the higher rpm's.
4. No rattles
I even had the stereo off until Fairfield, and that's saying a lot with my system. It was a shame my springs didn't arrive at my house in time for an install, but we all had a great day even though I went to the wrong restaurant and got lost going around the block!

now my box sound like a mans box....
anyone else want to get their word out? We just had a group buy so I know there are more. :D
got it on a couple of days ago. it sounds and looks awesome. well worth the money. definately recommend. :D
Spider13 08-03-2004, 01:58 AM I got my exhaust a couple of weeks ago and love it. I ended up with a little different exhaust then everyone else. The USPS mauled the first exhaust I got.(the round tip was almost square when i got it.) Stylis was cool and got everything straight fast. The normal parts were out of stock so he offered another tip or wait and I took the different tip. So now I have a limited edition exhaust  I love the sound and you can definitely notice an improvement in performance. I'd recommend this exhaust over a couple others I have seen and heard.
Show me your pics!!! I want to see how they look on your rides. :D
bB_Local_Boy 08-03-2004, 04:50 PM Do you do local stuff too, or is this only a drop shipping thing? I'd like to come down and check out your work if possible before I order one. Sound clips?

Anyone can drop by and enjoy themselves at the scion central. We also ship out, so there is no problem on that. We should have some sound clips soon, I am still waiting for one our memebers to come over to the shop with a camera with sound recording capabilites. :D

Nope... Still aint sharin' Actually, I'm in the middle of changing some crap and got it lookin' semi-stock at the moment.... I'll have to snap a few when I get it redone maybe -- as of yet they only person here to get a good look at the box is "Dansthunder" -- and that was in all it's half-done glory. Still got SOME stuff on it.
Your header-back system has settled in and has a nice throaty gurgle noise to it. I'd tell EVERYONE to buy the full system - but there are too many tightwads here who'd want a 45% off deal.
For those who will pony up a few duckets without _____ing about it, Stylis' system is really nice - fits well, looks good, sounds good etc etc blah blah blah. With 5000 miles on it now I've found it is very hard to make it 'pop' (which I hate), so that means the system is designed right on the edge of just about perfect. You can pop it, if you really try to - but doesn't unless you really hammer on it and then let off real fast.
Still waiting on those pics. :D

TheInfamousSofa 02-09-2005, 09:00 PM Gabriel is the man! After looking into ALOT of different exhausts, I went with him, and Im glad I did.
I put the axleback on 2 days ago myself (simple install, took me 45 min.) and everything lines up great! Hows the sound? Perfect for me. Not to loud and not to quiet. Just a killer sounding pitch. It goes great with my AEM CAI.
This weekend I will be putting on a new header to REALLY put it to the test!
Thanks again!
TheInfamousSofa, I am happy to hear your kind words and hope the header install goes well for ya! :D
TheInfamousSofa 02-13-2005, 11:31 PM Well, the header was a pain in the butt, but its done.
Is it just me, or does the exhaust get louder with a aftermarket header? I like the sound, just wondering. :)
