Hey guys I need help....anybody know where I can get the new lexus IS 350 license plate lights. I think they look hot, it has a real bright light blue color to it and it stands out pretty clean. I've been looking everywhere.

before anyone dumps 75 bucks on IS plate lights... let me tell you that they are nothing but leds. you can replace your incandecents with aftermarket leds and get the exact same result. it is not a light blue color, but a pure white- which appears to be light blue at times. i've installed leds in my lexus es300 and got the same exact result even before lexus came out with them (sorry no pics). they have a nice contrast to the red glow of the tails at night and are just as bright as the incandecents. they're actually not brighter than incandecents as they seem to be, just pure white as incandecents give off a shade of yellow which makes them look dimmer.

this is a cheap mod that i reccomend to everyone. few simple mods can make both an asthetic and practical (draws less current) improvement- this is one of them. lol.

(the second part is my two cents.)

this is the easiest route and it works effectively, but i took another route and had my friend put in the leds themselves (the "bulb", its two "prongs", and a soldered resistor) into the socket that would usually take a 194 bulb. that way, the diode could be aimed correctly with maximum projection on the plate itself instead of on the groud/bumper/elsewhere. 194 leds seemed too bright to me and it projected a little bit outwards (in my application). i wish i had my camera to take the picture. it doesn't have a light blue glow as well, since i used a smaller diode than what the 194 based ones have.

people people people. I have had these things for over 6 months. Those lights are the same ones out of the GS and its actully a cheap mod. Just get white LED lights and put them in. Thats what I did. Here check out the pic.
