Revilo 01-11-2006, 06:15 PM I was in cardomain page looking for scion tc, and i found this:

XD40tC 01-11-2006, 06:18 PM Thats pretty cool. It isnt hard at all to make an intake for these superchargers, you just gotta cut your existing intake. Well worth it IMO.
WeDriveScions 01-11-2006, 06:33 PM That's what I suggested with the Injen CAI. It'd still be nice to see a bent tube instead of the rubber though....
Scion-ce 01-11-2006, 06:36 PM Now I'm thinkin I should have kept my Weapon-R instead of selling it

i'm right there with ya man.
Scion-ce 01-11-2006, 07:30 PM Oh well, I'd rather have an intake that was specifically designed for the TRD s/c. Not a big fan of ghetto-rigged car parts or as we like to call it, "Afro-engineered"
DTRUONG_112 01-11-2006, 07:39 PM AFRO-ENGINEERED...hahaha
Stu_Gotti 01-11-2006, 07:48 PM :) Gotta love those parts when times are hard though..

Please tell me your black!
Nu_ERA 01-11-2006, 08:56 PM Thats Actually my car shown. Me and my buddy used the existing mounts. It fit snug and its pretty secure. A LOT better the supercharger airbox it came with. The rubber part is actually on all K&N intakes (for the tC).
Nu_ERA 01-11-2006, 09:13 PM As for ghetto rigged... well don't be quick to down talk since all custom work done apparently is "ghetto-rigged" . This took some fabrication and time so I am happy with the results.
DTRUONG_112 01-11-2006, 09:48 PM any noticeable gains?
Nu_ERA 01-11-2006, 10:29 PM Noticeable... YES. Dyno proven ... not yet but I will have that hopefully next friday (Jan 20th)
WeDriveScions 01-11-2006, 11:27 PM I'd have to believe that this would be an improvement in airflow and therefore, post a better dyno.... We'll have to see though.
Sam_J84 01-12-2006, 01:34 AM hmm you can prob go to a muffler shop and get them to custom bend a pipe for you. and just hook it up to the rest of the intake.

I wasn't down talking your setup. But just for kicks, it doesn't seem like it too much fabrbication at all. Looks like a K&N CAI cut off right before the MAF. Don't see how much "engineering" went into that.
Nu_ERA 01-12-2006, 06:07 PM I did saw off right after the MAF and made a bracket to mount it behind the fender (kinda hung loose) So now it is solid. And your right about not much "engineering" cause it was worth the time and it is simple enough for anyone to do. :)
tcholic 01-12-2006, 06:35 PM pic doesnt work...
Dont think this is the same pic, but still...

Looks like you can buy the injen "elbow" coupler, and still use your current Injen CAI with a little modification... hmm
Anybody know how big the rubber intake hose is? And what size the outlet is off of the supercharger itself?
http://www.injen.com/hose.html
90 Degree molded hose..

whose intake is that?
tikbhoy 01-17-2006, 04:00 AM prototype sc kit by scion, i have the pics looking to the front but i never saw this side.
if u notice its etched vortech
Yea, It looks so easy to turn a Injen CAI into a S/C CAI, just need that elbow it seems, I need to finance that supercharger....
bunnyfart 01-19-2006, 07:03 AM would the K&N filter work as well, if i were to get the injen elbow? any negatives on doing this?
