allblackxb 08-23-2003, 05:54 PM I have silverstar bulbs they work great! But sorry i dont know exactly which one is the right bulb.
ghasper 08-24-2003, 01:02 AM how long do these bulbs last compared to the stock ones?
mod7XB 08-24-2003, 02:15 AM get the H4 bulbs. they sell them at kragen autoparts or autozone.. They last pretty long i have had them in my chevy trailblazer for a while and now in my XB
to be safe get the ST ones with the little lower output..
SGVside 08-28-2003, 04:51 PM Too bad they stopped selling the retrofit HIDs or else you should get a pair of those instead of just bulbs. I have them on my xB and i love them. Bright white, with twice the light output. Can't go wrong.
eric_m 08-28-2003, 05:35 PM the silverstars last forever. these aren't those crappy ebay bulbs. these are sylvania who makes tons of OEM headlights, and are one of the biggest light companies in the world. for $50, you can't go wrong. you will go through 5 pair of those crappy blue bulbs before you go through one set of the silverstars. and there's no blue. just white light. a little yellow next to real HIDs, but way better than stock.
mod7XB 08-29-2003, 01:28 AM thanx eric you said how i feel about them bulbs.. they are great for the $50
i got some japanese PIAA GTX, they're awsome, very clear
oj411 10-01-2003, 02:50 AM Go to walmart 38.95 I noticed something after about 1 year of use the right bulb went out and I replaced it but guess what the new bulb is whiter and more blue then my old bulb just goes to show you that you may want to replace your bulbs every once in a while to keep the looks
McG_XB 10-03-2003, 07:19 PM I'm thinking of replacing my xBs factory headlight bulbs with siverstars too, but I'm getting conflicting info about which bulbs to get. Could someone that has these bulbs in their xB tell me what the exact part number to get so I don't have to end up returning the wrong size. Also, it would be a big help is someone could post some comparison pics of the factory bulbs agains the silverstars (another pic of an HID system along side the silverstars would also be nice).
Thanks
bBted 10-04-2003, 05:41 PM just buy H4/9003ST
scionRixB 10-04-2003, 05:53 PM This is nice, fellow Scioners out to look for Super Whites at the same time. I was in fact at Kragen's and Autozone in the Hollywood area looking for the H4 and they are all out of stock of the H4ST. The stores and at the sylvania web site shows only H4ST model. The H4ST and 9003ST are totally different models. Are you saying I can also use 9003ST as well for my xB? Please be clear. THanks.
bBted 10-04-2003, 06:11 PM 9003ST is the one you should get...
according to sylvania website, H4ST is for motorcycles...
McG_XB 10-04-2003, 06:21 PM Too bad they stopped selling the retrofit HIDs or else you should get a pair of those instead of just bulbs.
I found a company still selling H4 HID retrofit kits for $499 here http://www.autolamps-online.com/products/h4kit.htm , but HID is a little pricy for me. I think I'm just going to get some siverstars instead.
scionRixB 10-04-2003, 06:34 PM Thank you bBted. I will pick up 9003ST then, they are all over the place and have so much in stock. The turn signals for the front, any idea about the 1157 bulbs Super Wites, it has blue and yellow tint to it. wonder how it shines?
I am planning to go all white, how illegal is it to do the front and rear turn signals? I have a polar white xB and it would look nice wouldn't it? Has anyone been cited for white turn signals what are the fines? Thanks.
debris 10-04-2003, 07:30 PM check out BEST BUY...... 29.99 pair of OPTIX h4 bulbs.....good color not too blue not to white....last a long time...had them on my 94 accord...bought some for me xb

you are welcome!
u can have clear/white/yellow for the front signal, only red/yellow for rear...
quadraphonic 10-18-2003, 06:43 PM H4s and 9003s (HB2) are essentially the same bulbs. The H4 is a Euro designation. The DOT approved use of them over here, but constrained the design specs to eliminate production variation in the H4 bulbs.. thus the creation of the 9003. I can't see any reason why you couldn't use either. The H4s are probably available in higher wattages (read: brighter output), but could stress the wiring.

I know this post is old, but at least I did a search. I wanted someone else to confirm this for me about the white in the front turn signals. Thanks, Cory.
rolex87 07-05-2004, 06:47 PM I have the Silverstar turn signals, they look the the color you get when you have oil on water, but light up amber when lit. They look awesome.
