Default 1/8 mile

well i went to the race tracks for the first time yesterday and it was a lot of fun. let me know ur times and ur mods and trans..

i have K&n CAI, TRD exhaust, TRD springs...(auto trans)
did a total of 7 runs,

worst 11.011
best 10.786

mostly near 66MPH

R/T were in the 1.0 range, give or take .1 (still needs work)

I think i did fairly well for my first time and for an auto...
there was another tc there with cai, header back custom exhaust and his best time was around 9. something... a lil over 70MPH...

well let me know what u all get...

(also) anyone know any good 1/4 mile tracks in the so cal area?? thanks

Gratz, I'd honestly think it would be quicker than that but I guess thats where the auto vs manual gearing takes effect.

What do xB's run in the 1/4? I know when my first ZX2 was stock I ran a 10.18 1/8 mi time as a best. I was typically around 10.22-10.28

I got my second ZX2 to 14.706 @ 99mph..well see my sig. Impossible to launch on my street tires...heh. With that trap its good for low 14's..possibly high 13's. Anyways enough thread jacking...

Well here is my slip from the track. Reaction time sucked, happens when a female gets your attention out of the corner of your eye. You can watch the video here also. All i had done at the time was intake and headers. I'll post more when i go back to the track.

R/T doesn't matter, unless you're bracket racing. Clock doesn't start until you leave the line, and R/T is the time elapsed between the 3rd yellow and green. Perfect is 0.5 .. Some tracks do perfect as .000, but apparently yours doesn't.

You're auto.. and that's not too bad for that.

Go without a passenger. You'll never run your best with one.

In addition, are you auto? You've got a great 60', but somethings really holding you back at the top of 2nd/bottom of 3rd.

FranktheRank, the only 1/4 mile track that's close to you/us is California Speedway in Fontana. I'm assuming you went to Irwindale Speedway for your 1/8th mile runs.

If you feel like a drive, there is also Los Angeles County Raceway in Palmdale. I think they have 2 run what ya' brung nights per week. Check out LACR.net if you're interested. The track isn't that great and the elevation makes for slower e.t.'s but it doesn't get crazy busy so peeps can get a lot of runs in.

Enjoy!

senseiturtle, I have a stick... The track i run at does .500 as perfect I did .4XX but it was redlight. As for something holding me back at the top of 2nd bottom of third... Could have been my shifting or the stock exhaust. I have an injen exhaust and a twm short shifter now should help a little. I just remembered that the headers i had on at the time were Megan Racing but they had a high flow pre-cat. I have a new set now were they removed the high flow pre catI also had a piece in the exhaust, which im guessing is part of the cat, break loose and I removed it. This is what i took out

Im going to try to get back to the track 1/27 or the following friday.

Dude, it'd be worth it to see an Escort run mid 13s. At least that's my guess at your e.t. with nearly a 100mph trap.

That's what he dug out of his exhaust... from the 1st gen megan headers.

Got ya... have another go at it... i'm sure with a 60-foot like that, you should be running 9.8's at 70+

I have a 10mb video of me going from 65 or 75 to over 150mph in that car, if anyone wants to see it just send me a message with an email address that will accept a 10mb+ file..
