Well I searched and couldnt find it...

I have been asking and seen others ask. Does anyone have a picture of the tamper proof cap for the SC?
Nothing is covering my supercharger pulley. I had it installed at the dealer. And I dont see anything to keep me from taking it off.

I want to boost it more. But with a certain problem arising in SL I am considering leaving it as is and waiting to see if more problems happen.
So I want to know what this cap looks like so I know if I have it or not. I want to have it on so that I have no problems if I have engine problems. I am not looking to trick the dealer. I am running stock enigine except exhuast. And I might just stay that way until I see for sure its all good.

I dont think I do, but I am not mechanic.
My engine bay:

What does everyone think? If i dont get it put in and have a problem, will the exif data from this picture prove the cap was never there? Or will they just say I removed the cap and its all my fault?

The problem is, unless I new about this site, I honestly would never know it needed the cap. So if say I wasnt on Scion Life and the engine blew tomorrow, I would show up at scion, and they would say no cap no service. But it wouldnt be my fault.

They would service you, but not under warrenty.

lol yeah they will always service it.

But the warranty isnt my fault. As you can see from the pic, they messed up. Why should I pay the price?

Take it back to the dealer and tell them they missed something...

I am deffinetly considering it. If our engines do have problems that might arise, I cant be out all that money.

(But it would give me an excuse to the wife for going full blown engine rebuild :) )

Well I was hoping that someone w/ a better camera than mine would post pics of the cap. I don't know whether it's a good thing or not but my dealer did put on the cap when doing the install. Here are two pics:

Yes thank you very much,. I have been asking for a month. Its good to know now. I will be going to ask for my dealer to put one on this week.

I want to turn the boost up, but I cant be worrie by will it hurt the warranty. If I have engine problems I want there to be no doubt whos fault it is.

just grab a larger crank pulley, you will still be able to get 9lbs and not mess with that cap... A lot easier.

yeah but the crank pulleys havent been proven for reliability. Its still a huge debate.

True, but no problems as of yet. They have been out for a while. Nobody currently that I know of makes a larger crank though, maybe NST does...

Yeah I am not saying they are bad. I just cant afford to gamble. Same with the suppercharger pulley. I think its ok, but i cant take the chance. Not only is it alot of money.

But the wife would kill me if the engine went on a new car.

thats what i was thinking... think theyd notice? if not, thatd be awesome. extra boost and an intact warranty.

yea it would be great till something failed and you needed work done - then when they saw a bright purple/blue pully there ....then what do you do?

Nick06tC

I have considered this. You can get the same color pulley. But I am not to into tricking my dealer. My morals wont allow it.
