Default How about Umnitza?

The thread that I had started earlier about intakes seems to have died so...
I am looking for an intake that will give my car a good tone, and I think the Umnitza would do just that. But, there must be some drawbacks like torque loss and cat failures. Feel free to add your two cents into this one!
Regards,
Matt

Torque loss is you only real worry.... cat failure won't happen cause of an intake.... I reall prefer the Injen setup over the others.... much more dynoed power and definate good looks.... two colors as well.... Umnitza is cool, but I can't see it getting as good as flow.

First of all - Cat failures??? How is that even logically attributable to an intake?

Second and most important, based on CFM readings, the intake we sell provides the highest volume of air of any intake out there, so the issue is to take advantage of that air.

I'm sure with time, the ECU will adapt to allow for that added air into the system.

To umnitza,
OK, well from what I have been reading some people are contributing their cat failures to intakes, so I guess they are as ignorant as I am about the issue--THAT IS WHY I ASKED. So I apologize if I some how offended you. I'll never attempt to "logically attribute" that issue to an intake again (if that's what I did). I simply asked the question because I wasn't sure how the intake could have caused the cat failure.

It's not about being offended, it's about propogating incorrect information, who cares if you do or don't offend me;)

Umnitza sounds amazing! Definitely better sounding than any other tC intake out there and yes Ive heard them all except the fujita but im sure that sounds just like the others. Only thing I dont like about it is that it doesnt come with a tube replacement which probably keeps it from reaching its full potential in both sound and power. Its why Im having one custom made for me but still this in my book is the best intake out there. Definitely catches attention too!

they use the stock tube to deal with heat soak... the HKS CAI also makes use of the stock tube too for that reason.

A carbon fiber tube would be a nice addition. Would it not prevent heatsoak as well? Even if they made like a silicon tube that was smoother that would be cool.
