So, ummm, let me see here...it went from needing a tamper proof cap because your bud put on a ZPI pulley and then you found out that a few techs MAY have forgotten to put the caps on, so now you are going to get a list of these people and maybe throw the old pulley on and claim Toyota forgot to put it on?

Nice...

You have to heat it real good with a heat gun, then press it into the socket. It warps easy, mine ended up with my thumb print instead of a trd logo hahaha!

^^ They're supposed to put it on so if you end up changing something and "tamper" with the cap, they'll know and then can deny warranty work if necessary because you changed something.

so then if they didnt put it on.. wouldnt you just take it back to the same dealer when/if you need service..

I am certainly not going to go ask them to put it on :) what if I want to change the pulley .. then i have to tamper with it hah!

thanks..

mine didn't get put on either. i'm gonna put on the pulley and then go have them put one on for me. they have my box of stuff from when they installed the supercharger, so i'm gonna assume it's in that box of stuff.

I think the another thing to do is to start a thread warning people who are going to be getting the SC to look for this. Those who dont know will never look, so if they have issues Toyota will screw them out of warranty. If you are missing yours then you should take it straight to the dealer and mention it before you ever have issues. They are much more likely to put it on then than after something breaks if it does.

For those who have tampered with it, I still stand by my original opinion. You take it off, you leave it off. Tricking them to warranty something that the pulley was replaced on is just as bad as them not warrantying it when they should. You cant expect them to act any more ethically than they do. Yes, I would think it to be a not so great design if you up the boost a couple of psi and it breaks something, but the deal is, they only warranty it with the original pulley, so that should be honored. Not directing this at anyone in particular, but I have just heard a lot of "if it breaks it I will put it back stock and get it warrantied" posts.
