Default Bazooka speaker upgrade with Sub

i was wondering, how many of you have decided to go with one of the Scion upgraded sound systems. I know that a lot of people are getting the six disc changer but I don't see the point since the stock is mp3 compatiable. I haven't yet seen a Scion with the sub as an add on. What is your opinion about those? I also know that the Southeast offers a Bazooka sound system that offers upgraded speakers along with a chip amp and tub. Have any of you heard that system and what do you think about it.
Thanks!

I believe the current response to your question is:

"Buy it somewhere else, you will get it cheaper and probably somenthing better"

Personally I did not get it...REASON: I can get something better for that price.

Just my 2 Cents....

I persionally orderd the 6-disc changer for my XB and i was concidering getting the Subb but i heard from many people that it was a wast of money and that it didnt provide much Bang..... I like the 6 disc, doesnt skipp or malfunction in anyway and provides good bass responce. I also enjoy the color change look 2 it.

if you really want those bazooka subs u can get way better prices here http://www.crutchfield.com/S-L8tjdar...&avf=N&search= or anywhere else like ikonlord said...i've had a bazooka sub before, but i don't think its worth $400 for an 8" tube as an option

It's a basic 8" bazooka sub tube. Curcuit City sells one just like it (BAZ EL8A) for $150.

Even if you throw in an hours labor (around $50), a nice 4guage wiring kit (anywhere between $50 and $80) and the adaptor to link it to a stock stereo system (around $20) you're still only looking at $350. And, going this way, you have the ability to upgrade to a true amp/speaker system at any time by just replacing the tube.

With their system you would still have to re-wire.

Also, I listed some parts that are a lot more then you need. You can go with a cheaper wire kit and such, and save up to $50 right off the top. And if you wire it yourself (easy), then you save another $50.

But the 4-Guage is nice to have as you can later upgrade to a multi-amp system without having to re-wire.

I used to install car stereos for CC while I was in college. Looking over my xB, it would be one of the easiest installs ever. I have an automatic so going through the fire wall is easy, battery is close to fire wall, so routing the wire is no problem and getting the inside apart is cake as it all snaps together.

[edit]On a closer look, I think they are using the BAZ CS8A5, which is a self amplified system. It costs $213 at CC and is crap. If the amp ever goes out you have to ship the whole system back. But, with this system, it's even cheaper to install as you only have to tap into the left/right rear outputs of the stereo and run the wires back, and get a 8 guage amp kit. You're looking at less then $300, installed, at circuit city or best buy.[/edit]

I ordered a Infinity Basslink for my '58 special and am going to give it a try soon. For a little over 200 you can get that online from various dealers and it sounds really nice. Using the basslink over a bazooka you will get better sound with remote sound level and also lose less cargo area. Anyways the speaker should be here in a day or two and will give more info on it. Plus for $500 you could easily build a custom box for cargo area, nice sub and decent amp. Or get some jank ___ bazooka tube

Cyas, dont let your meatloaf...

The basslink is awesome. I heard it at Circuit City and I like it a lot. I don't have that kind of money to spend on audio right now, though... But it's mikochu-certified.
