CubiXBb 04-28-2004, 05:48 PM they look ok. :o I would have to see them in person.
I agree. I give it points for originality, and would probably go well with all your other c/f parts :)
bBted 04-28-2004, 05:52 PM
aimeeXa 04-28-2004, 06:19 PM CF wheels for motorcycles have been around for a while now.
Example:

dinkjs 04-28-2004, 06:28 PM Is it real Carbon fiber though or just laid on top of another metal?
westsype 04-28-2004, 06:32 PM I think just laid on top. Thats what i think after looking at their website.
aimeeXa 04-28-2004, 06:35 PM On motorcycles they are real cf....i don't know about these though.
NERD_BOX 04-28-2004, 06:39 PM HEY ! Adrian should've had those already! Ill let him know!
mikochu 04-28-2004, 06:39 PM they are aluminum and cf... too much cf for me

EL_PAALO 04-28-2004, 11:25 PM Azev is working on the reverse of that. Not for looks, for weight savings.

How is that the reverse? THere is CF inside and aluminum on the outside?! hmmm... :?
HotBox 04-29-2004, 08:44 AM they aint all that pretty but i like the fact that theyre CF. i agree with westsype i think its just laid on top...
EL_PAALO 04-29-2004, 05:52 PM Reverse because the actual rim section of the wheel is completely carbon fiber and the center is aluminum. The earlier rims in the thread have an aluminum rim and carbon fiber (or carbon fiber overlay) center.
Kendo 05-29-2004, 12:32 AM I've actually held one of the prototype Azev wheels with the carbon barrel and silver center. In the 18×8.5 size, it weighed 12 lbs.
01design 06-01-2004, 07:37 PM Hey guys whats up? I work for the company that makes these rims, 01.designsystems. For those wonderings since I see there is some confusion here, yes the rims are aluminum wheels with a carbon fiber overlay. These rims are more show than go. If your looking for performance I'd say wait a bit for our next line of rim's or pre order ;) If any of you have anymore questions, just reply to this post or just PM me if you'd like.

djimpak 06-02-2004, 01:05 AM so what's the next line of rims?
satanisanerd734 06-02-2004, 01:54 AM they look pretty cool... :D
TheScionicMan 06-02-2004, 03:05 AM Do you guys make CF lugnuts? Overlay OK with me even.
If you don't make them, anyone know if anyone makes such a thing?
the_saint 06-04-2004, 11:19 PM how would those Azev wheels hold up on crappy pothole riddled streets? would they be prone to cracking?
BLKScion 06-10-2004, 12:14 AM the wheels on my ninja are CF....the lips are an alooy, but the 4 spokes are all CF, through and through..ill try to post pics
EL_PAALO 06-10-2004, 01:36 AM Makes sense, just evolution. There've been carbon fiber bicycle wheels forever.
xb4wrx 06-10-2004, 12:10 PM I think they are great if I can save up the money I would get them for my lava.
Kendo 06-25-2004, 12:24 AM The Azev wheels are supposed to be nice & strong. The wheels over there all have to pass TÜV approval prior to usage on roads. These wheels can handle big Mercedes S-Classes doing 160 on the autobahn so they should be ok for the roads here too. I haven't seen the production models yet, nor the pricing.
LavaScionSouthernArizona 06-25-2004, 01:31 AM just for ____s and giggles......How about orange cf??
