I agree. I give it points for originality, and would probably go well with all your other c/f parts :)

CF wheels for motorcycles have been around for a while now.

Example:

Is it real Carbon fiber though or just laid on top of another metal?

Azev is working on the reverse of that. Not for looks, for weight savings.

Reverse because the actual rim section of the wheel is completely carbon fiber and the center is aluminum. The earlier rims in the thread have an aluminum rim and carbon fiber (or carbon fiber overlay) center.

I've actually held one of the prototype Azev wheels with the carbon barrel and silver center. In the 18×8.5 size, it weighed 12 lbs.

Hey guys whats up? I work for the company that makes these rims, 01.designsystems. For those wonderings since I see there is some confusion here, yes the rims are aluminum wheels with a carbon fiber overlay. These rims are more show than go. If your looking for performance I'd say wait a bit for our next line of rim's or pre order ;) If any of you have anymore questions, just reply to this post or just PM me if you'd like.

Do you guys make CF lugnuts? Overlay OK with me even.

If you don't make them, anyone know if anyone makes such a thing?

how would those Azev wheels hold up on crappy pothole riddled streets? would they be prone to cracking?

Makes sense, just evolution. There've been carbon fiber bicycle wheels forever.

I think they are great if I can save up the money I would get them for my lava.

The Azev wheels are supposed to be nice & strong. The wheels over there all have to pass TÜV approval prior to usage on roads. These wheels can handle big Mercedes S-Classes doing 160 on the autobahn so they should be ok for the roads here too. I haven't seen the production models yet, nor the pricing.
