Default CEL on header, what ever came of it

What ever came of the guy that was going to try and do a curved peice on the 02 sensor? I lost that thread and didnt see if that ended up working or not. Mine was off the other day and came back on today. I would like to know if that worked or not. So I could change mine over if it worked.

weapon r made a L shaped pipe that the sensor mounts in that fixes it but its way over priced just have a shop weld one together for you

or if you were local i would do it for you but your not

I can weld it, I was just wondering if it did work or not.
My CEL stayed off for a while till I hit the freeway. Then it came right back on. must see the readings long enough to toss the light on.

FYI: The facts about CEL Fixes.

Antifouler $5. But doesnt work for everyone. 20% success rate.

Perrin O2 SIMulator: $59.99 . Doesnt work on Scions.

MMW CEL ELIMINATOR: $45. Works on Scions and any other car.
Given the fact that toyota has one of the most sensitive ECU's.

For the people who are going to try and make one.. go ahead but your going to have to cut up your exhaust to get the O2 bungs out and try to weld on a L-pipe into place?

For $45 which is not alot of money.. Our kit is bolt on and you dont have to cut up anything or you dont need to splice any wires or anything funny like that.
Takes less than 10 minutes and your done.
..

But if you want to try and make it into a weekend project and Fab something up.
I just dont see wasting time and money on trying to fab something thats already proven , cheap and easy to install.

Just my 2 cents..

Why would you have to cut up your pipe when fab'ing your own.. bungs can be bought..
That looks too simple for $45... kinda salty.

That is a very easy peice to build. No need to cut the exhaust or anything like that at all. I think I have a couple extra bungs at the shop anyway.
Not knocking MMW at all. Im glad they finally came out with a peice that looks like it finally works. They seem to be the ones coming through on the parts that fit and work.

how are you going to thread your piece into your original O2 sensor Bung? Sure you can buy bungs but how you going to thread it into the OEM bungs? Just letting you know ahead of time that its not as simple as you think it is. ALso you use the wrong pipe diamter and the CEL light will go back on anyways.

Our's is all CNC'ed on both ends of one tube, then we weld them together.

I have a quick question on this contraption. Yes its good that it will keep a cel from being thrown. But what if there is honestly a problem that arrises? Will the o2 sensor be able to recognize it being this far from where its suppose to be?

so the part that throws a cel is the s-pipe? not the header?

The o2 sensor being "modified" in this case only monitors the performance of the cat in the header (you know, the one you just removed). It really does not do anything else. In the event of a problem, it's the first o2 sensor (the one that goes into one of the runners on the header) that will detect that, along with a plethora of other onboard sensors.

wow I have asked about this a few times and never got a real answer. This explains it perfect and makes it much much easier for me to deal with.

My only other problem and I dont know if its a problem because I dont know the design of the stock header. If the aftermarket header has the o2 in one runner, what if another cylinder has a problem? How will it be detected?
