A real life turbo honda...from the factory
OK, its a truck. But knowing how honda shares engines across platforms, there may be some interesting things to come.

IMO, the rear end rips off the FX35/45 enough to make it look good, but the front end looks WAAAAY too much like a Saturn VUE to make this an upscale Acura.
I think they'd have more success launching it as a Honda. That or I'd have to see it in person.

Get your facts straight. The RDX should be grabbling from its lineage.
I also think the RDX is not slated to compete with SUVs such as the Tribeca since judging by its size it is more like an upscale RAV4, VUE or Escape. It could be more or less likely slated to go toe to toe with the Mazda CX-7. However, I have a hunch whatever was done to that concept engine wise can be done to a Saturn VUE Redline.
The RDX's main competitor is the BMW X3. The interior is awesome, and the engine is pretty sweet; 240hp and 260 ft-lbs. This is coupled with Honda's SH-AWD system so it should handle very well for an SUV.
While the current VUE has Honda's J35 engine, I don't think Honda would sell this turbo engine over to the VUE.

Well with the Mazda CX-7 using the Mazaspeed 6's engine which is also a 2.3l turbocharged 4 that puts out 244hp and 250 torque. I can also imagine that they will be both about the same size which would either be something along the lines of the new RAV4. But you are right that both are probably aiming for the X3 throat.
Both brag about giving good fuel economy for their power, and even though Honda's would probably have the better fuel economy, would it be by much? Mazda has been also braging about their AWD system in even though it is Haldex based, it computes a bunch of variable including steering angle and yaw. So it is actually more akin to the EVO.
This is going to be an interesting fight between two mid-sized Japanese automobile companies vying for a sporty image, at least in North America.

Unless you are replying to somone else I never said that Honda sucked. Its just that both Honda and Mazda now want virtually their whole lineup to be sporty. Plus their upcoming SUVs are drastically similar it makes me wonder if corperate espionage was involved, never mind about that. They may even bring more attention to the Tribeca.
