Default H-Tech or Hotchkis

Which is better to get and why? I can find them within $10 of each other, so price doesn't matter. Which one is stiffer/ which one bounces more? Pictures are welcomed (especially on bsp). Will I need to get my car up on a lift for the install (specifically the rears)? How long does it take for the install, and what's a fair price to charge? Already had one shop quote me at $250 for new springs, thought that was pretty extravagant. I'm currently leaning towards the H-Techs, but I need more info. I live in a hilly area, so rubbing is probably a concern. What's a good price for alignment after the springs are installed? Lastly, how long before I need to replace the shocks, and how much do a decent set of new shocks cost (I'm assuming the dealership would never replace the shocks under warranty if there's lowering springs in there...)? Thanks for the help.

I just had my H-Techs installed yesterday and they look pretty neat. Just do a search on this site and you'll see plenty of cars w/ H-Techs on them. It gives it a mild but noticeable drop and nothing over-the-top like the S-Techs. Hotchkis has a bigger drop on the rear which visually evens out the car, so it all depends on taste.

250 for an install? That's roughly four-fold what an avg. shop should charge for a suspension install. CALL AROUND. Shops should not charge more than 100 for an install. I had mine installed at Autohaus in So Cal for 70.

You should do an alignment 2 weeks after the springs settle. Mention a future alignment to the shop and see if they'll lower the price for you. An average alignment should cost around 70-80.

If you're riding on H-Techs, stock shocks should be no problem for a while. And when I say a while, i mean a while. Like over a year. If the springs were 2"+ drop, then you should buy an A/M shocks and springs package and have the shop install it all at once since 2" is pretty drastic.
